No. Definitely not. The Senate is unquestionably more important (with their advise & consent powers, with their impeachment powers, etc.).Would you be more thrilled with the outcome if the Republicans had kept the House? But as a devout constitutional conservative, I could not be more thrilled with the outcome.
I understand how when we went to bed Tuesday night, it seemed like there was a Democratic win in the House but not a wave, but since then with more votes being counted it DID trn out to be a BIG BLUE WAVE for the Democratic Party, all around, with the exception of the Senate, which was NEVER on the table, even with polling, for the Democrats to win. They had something like 25 seats up for reelection while the repubs had only 10 or so to defend.
Democrats so far have taken and picked up from Republicans that held them,
386 State Legislators
7 State Legislatures
7 Governors
lost 3 in the Senate,
BUT there are 3 that are not finalized and in recount areas
won when counting is done at MINIMUM
35 seats in the House from Republicans
*NOTE
*Democrats only won 31 seats, after Watergate Scandal
*and in 2014 when Republicans won seats and it was called a RED WAVE and rebuke of President Obama, the Republicans took 30 seats from Democrats.
it took 8 years under Obama, 4 elections for the Republicans to take those 1000 seats.... democrats got nearly 400 of them back in just ONE election, the first one.... 40% of those seats backMany years ago, the democrats started a huge slide.
They lost governorships and about 1000 seats in state legislatures.
This time around they got about 350 of them back.
They also got some governorships back.
Only 650 to go.
No congratulations.....
Just licking some wounds and a resolution to do better next time.
Dems will have picked up 35-40 in the House. 7 governors. Kemp will probably win. Gillum? Probably not.I understand how when we went to bed Tuesday night, it seemed like there was a Democratic win in the House but not a wave, but since then with more votes being counted it DID trn out to be a BIG BLUE WAVE for the Democratic Party, all around, with the exception of the Senate, which was NEVER on the table, even with polling, for the Democrats to win. Nelson remains interesting. They probably lose a net two seats after MS and FL are final. But it is still possible Nelson could win. But losing only two means the dems have a better than decent chance of flipping the Senate next year. McConnell's gambit was to avoid that. But they will lose Collins seat. Colorado is also probably going, although Garner is an affable guy, but he carried Trump's water in the senate this time. And Trump is NOT popular in Colo. NC, could be a pickup. AZ is up again. GA and Iowa
If they win the WH and 3 senate seats, they can maintain the SC or possibly even flip it.
I think that pretty much equals the waves we've seen since 1990.
You don't have 3 more elections - you have one more election. The instances are not symmetrical - redistricting will be done by those elected in 2020. Dems need a larger influence on that process.it took 8 years under Obama, 4 elections for the Republicans to take those 1000 seats.... democrats got nearly 400 of them back in just ONE election, the first one.... 40% of those seats backMany years ago, the democrats started a huge slide.

Alabama senate seat will come back to the GOP in 2020.
AZ will not make the same mistake this time around. Your governor does not kick butt like Ducey in a purple state.

Republicans went overboard with Gerrymandering as a new art form
When Dems take back state level governments in 2020 they will retaliate in kind.
But Republicans will not take Democratic Gerrymandering lightly. They will turn to Conservative stacked courts to overturn the Democratic districts. The courts will issue new guidelines for drawing congressional "fair" districts.
The same guidelines Republicans will have to abide by in future elections. Negating their ability to rule from a minority

And the “Blue Wave” continues!!! Time to give Democrat Andrew Gillum (FL) the “Blue Wave”. Ready oreo? These special elections are the writing on the wall for Republicans this coming November. A sleeping giant has been awoken. It's coming.

Yeah...real smart.....
More like a fairy tale.
With Bernie alsmost taking out Clinton and that whack job in New York, the democratic party is experiencing the start of a civil war.
You really think you are the majority ?
Don't make me laugh.

In 2010, Republicans ran on Obamacare outrage. The Tea Tards got out the vote and Republicans not only won the House but local State Houses
They used the win to Gerrymander the House and local districts for a decade
In 2018, that Gerrymander failed due to Trump outrage. The same outrage that will bring out the vote in 2020. Dems will take no prisoners and gerrymander like has never been seen before
