Voters thought that BOTH Trump and Clinton were terrible. A quarter of voters held their nose and voted for one person because they hated the other more.

Virginia/New Jersey have new Democrat governors. 15 state house seats in Virginia were up for grabs, Democrats winning all of them, and 11 of those seats went to women. Doug Jones wins in Alabama. Trump has the market for the white econ loser sewn up. Whether they do any better or not isn't really the issue for them as they're focked one way or the other.

Obama's legacy may ironically be expanding Medicaid for poor whites in northern states.

However the gop's war on higher education is neither good governance or politics, but that won't tell for awhile. Trump is actually not doing anything on trade, so prices probably won't increase that way.
