This is a German-made movie about the final days of WWII. The English dubbing sucks, so I watched it in the original language.
This movie is a lot of fun as "good" Germans and bad Germans slaughter each other in a quest for gold left behind in a small town by a Jew who was carted off to a concentration camp.
The bad Germans are led by an SS officer who the Jew tried to bribe by revealing where the gold was hidden in exchange for his freedom.
The movie begins with one of the soldiers being lynched by his mates for desertion. He's a big war hero but has grown tired of his country's evil ways. Yada yada yada.
This movie seems to be an expression of how karma caught up to all the Germans at the end of the war, with even the innocent not being exempt from fate's wrath. Lots of blood and guts as the Americans are closing in.
It's a fun movie. There is a lot of spaghetti western music in the soundtrack. And, of course, even the German women kick some ass, with one of them getting her hands on a Raketenpanzerbüchse 54. Cool!
