Bill making it a felony to protest against pipelines or other fossil fuel projects

Huh? It’s going to save you thousands! All that cheap gas!

Really?
Yes
Just don’t be disobedient

Says the boy pretending to call for a coup against democrats.

Does this saying sound familiar?
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
No

It should.
Huh

Padding your numbers again?

I said you should recognize it because it is one of the more famous quotes of Samuel Adams. You said you had read and studied about him. I guess it was more of a picture book, huh?
You left out the context

BUILD THE PIPELINE!!!

USE YOUR OWN MONEY and stop trying to be a commy socialist stealing MY money for your personal agenda!

YOU PAY FOR IT!

then go right ahead and build it....I don't care.
Huh? It’s going to save you thousands! All that cheap gas!

how can it save me any money if I'm dead because you and your friends lynched me because I don't love trump?
We are trying to prevent you from lynching the pipe layers

West Virginia Legislation Would Make Civil Disobedience Against Gas Pipelines a Felony

Big oil spending money to buy politicians to avoid being held responsible.

Any WV politicians that vote for this legislation should be removed next election (or sooner).

Yeah- this is pretty blatant.

Why should civil disobedience against a gas company be treated any differently than say disobedience for anything else- protesting an abortion clinic, or a gun rights convention? Or a local school? Or anything else?

Having a special interest law to protect one industry from protestors? That is wrong.

You didn't recognize a very famous quote of Samuel Adams. So those books on him that you claimed to have "read", did you color all the pictures yet?

No, you just want to able to be as violent as you want but no one else to be able to do so.

You want the cops gone when you and your buddies beat some poor sucker, but laws enforced when it is someone else.

LMAO!! You just can't help it, can you?

I have seen you go on and on about wanting fewer cops so you can have street fights without arrests. That is you.

I am a closer follower of what the founding fathers did than you are.

No I didn’t I said we shouldn’t live in police states if people are angry we should be naturally be able to express ourselves.. not live in a constant police state with no end.

Like I'm going to sympathize with an idiot editor who also founded a
single payer health care for america website?

No thanks. Lock those smelly unwashed anti-pipeline protesters up and throw away the key.

Besides, WV is coal country. Why would Big Coal even care about gas pipelines?

The article specifically mentions "other fossil fual projects".

And people should have a voice. I hate that protestors cause problems for fossil fuel companies. But those people deserve the right to voice their grievances.

Is this about protesting outside the fence of the property being worked on, or actually interfering with the work being done?

Sorry, but if you believe in your cause enough to disrupt the work being done, then you should have the conviction to take your punishment, serve your sentence and do it again.

I agree with you in part- if you take part in civil disobedience, and get arrested for it- then part of your civil disobedience is taking the punishment.

But in this case the Gas industry is asking for a special carve out- so that protesters who disrupt their business get treated more harshly than protesters that disrupt say a 7-11 or a gun shop.

Different treatment to benefit a specific industry seems wrong to me- how about you?

No, what I said is accurate. You have specifically said you wanted fewer cops on the streets and let the street fight happen. I can go find a quote if you want, but since you have expressed that several times, we both know you have said it.

And oddly, you have expressed a lot of anger over your felony, saying getting arrested for street fighting and ending up with a felony record has made your life much harder. But you WANT these protesters to get felony convictions and have it make their lives much harder. Not for all trespassing, but for oil, gas, and coal you want them to suffer a felony record. Wow. That is a level of hypocrisy that is stunning.

There is no rational basis for that statement. The economy of WV would be damaged if they stopped the gas pipeline and that would negatively affect the lives or the people of WV.

Yes there is a basis for that statement.

The oil, gas, or coal is a temporary industry in any given location. Look at the people in WV who spent their lives digging coal. The coal mines played out, and they were left with a choice of relocating or being broke. And yes, the coal mines brought jobs. But when the mines played out, all that was left was environmental nightmares and black lung.
I said there was no rational basis for claiming the people of WV were being damaged by the pipeline, and you proved I was right. First of all, every industry is a temporary industry at any given location; Steel is a temporary industry - just ask the people in the rust belt; auto manufacturing is a temporary industry - just ask the people in Detroit who are watching their jobs going to Mexico. However, in WV it wasn't economic forces that caused so much unemployment but big government that closed down the market for coal and that closed the mines. There is still plenty of coal in WV but nowhere to sell it because of government regulation, so you should be protesting against big government rather than big oil and gas.

The pipeline benefits everyone because the cost of energy affects the cost of everything else from food to clothes to cars and so on, and pipelines are the least expensive way to transport gas. You are letting ideology cloud your thinking.

No, I am not. Pipelines spill and the damage is often simply covered instead of being addressed.

And I am not saying it is all bad. I am just against any law that punishes protestors against gas, oil, and coal more. If I trespass against another industry, it is a misdomenor. But against the oil companies it is a felony?
Actually, pipelines have an amazing record for safety, far better than trucks carrying fuel. The US has 2.4 million miles of oil and gas pipelines and spills are rare. You are not protesting against the oil and gas companies but against the people of WV who have sanctioned the construction of the pipeline. You are protesting against the rule of law, against democracy in WV. And now you are claiming the right to trespass, to vandalize and to prevent other people from doing their jobs and you don't even know what you are protesting against. Sounds like it should be a felony to me.

No, I am protesting the oil & gas companies buying politicians to make their work easier. I am protesting politicians being for sale after the people vote for them.

And yes, leaks from trucks are more common. But a truck only carries 11,000 or 12,000 gallons. Last November there was a leak in the Keystone Pipeline that spilled over 9,000 barrels of oil (378,000 gals). 31 full transport trucks would have to wreck and empty completely to equal that.

But it is still more buying politicians than anything.
lol But since you have no evidence of oil and gas companies buying politicians you are protesting nothing.

Yes, it is still a police state. Whether or not you live in a police state has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not anyone is working, you idiot.
