Bill Clinton had a higher average approval than Reagan (Gallup)

Conservatives in this forum screwed up by citing an "average approval" article by Gallup, in which President Nixon scored higher than Obama.

Now conservatives are forced to admit that their icon Reagan was not as good a president as their despised Bill Clinton.
Obama Averages 47.9% Job Approval as President

Possible excuses are "Gallup sucks" or "Bill Clinton sucks", but both answers derail the Obama-Nixon thread, because

1) If Gallup sucks, then why did you start the other thread? and
2) If Clinton sucks, why did you trust respondents in accurately assessing President performance regarding Obama-Nixon, while dismissing respondents in the Clinton-Reagan case?

In short, replying to this thread at all is automatically a self-embarrassment inducing action if you're a conservative.

Yeah, Reagan was unpopular.

Your graph only proves that Reagan was more popular than Mondale.

For those of us old enough to remember history, Reagan was hugly popular as the map shows.

If you like history, here is the moment in time when it was confirmed that Mondale was going to lose:

We're not discussing whether Reagan was highly popular. We are discussing who had a higher average approval, He or Clinton, since a conservative started a separate thread noting that Nixon had a higher average approval than Obama. Stay focused and don't play dumb regarding the topic at hand.

Having lived through all those presidents let me tell you, no one was more popular than Reagan. Prior to Watergate Nixon was also extremely popular. Clinton and Obama, popular with the democrat supports whom happen to make put a larger percentage of the population. So yes, it would appear they were popular but as a whole Nixon, pre-Watergate and Reagan beat them both silly.

As for polls, didn't Gallup award Hillary the presidency weeks before the election?

Polls are BULLSHIT!

Before you write that I am this or that please note I did not read the other thread as of yet, and do not care if Nixon was more popular than Obama...

One thing is for sure Nixon and Reagan won more Electoral College votes in their second term run and Obama and Clinton could not even come close...

So if Reagan was unpopular then the people of the time did not seem to show it in 1984 and the same for Nixon in 1972...

I really doubt Clinton or Obama could have beaten Nixon or Reagan...
