Biden lashes out at Palin's 'pro-America' comment

oh, i "get" it
its just another pathetic attempt to attack Palin

No. It's not. Because what she said was a continuation of her statements about how she represents "small town America". They are supposed to represent ALL America. This is what Peggy Noonan was talking about... fake populism where they want to continue dividing the country in two. What she did, and the reason even conservatives like Crimson responded negatively to it is because she basically told every blue state (WHERE THEY DESPERATELY NEED VOTES) that they are not "pro-American".

Do you think she's going to rev up THOSE voters? Or do those votes go by the wayside for your guy? Should any president be president of "half" the country? And is anyone who doesn't vote for your team "unamerican"?

THAT is what the problem is with her comments.

We believe that the best of America is in the small towns that we get to visit, and in the wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard-working, very patriotic, very pro-America areas of this great nation," she said.

"This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans," Palin added.

Oh come on, now , folks. Please for a moment just stop thinking like a Republican partisan and start thinking like an American citizen.

Read that woman's inane rambling, her incomprehenible blather, again.

Does it even make sense?

" ...in the wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America,..."

So, according to her, the people living in Ohmaha or Allentown are what... Not living in Palin's real America?

What was McCain thinking ?

Does it sometimes occur to you that the plan is for the Dems to win this time around, and perhaps, just perhaps that exactly why Palin is on the ticket?

Seriously...how can anyone vote to put that woman in the position of being one heartbeat away from becoming Commander-in-chief of the USA?

BUT it is FINE when Obama attacks SMALL town America with his "clinging to guns and religion" comments. You are a partisan hack.

How can any sane person vote for Obama? He has announced plans to destroy the economy, create massive new public programs and rape the Companies that are still afloat.

Living in the poor rural south, I have this discussion with a lot of my conservative friends.

I don't want to hear about the "poor rural south." I grew up in one of the most economically depressed rural areas in the country.

Take this scenario. Two families. They live in a small town. One, is a fat, lazy, bitch who could work but doesn't and instead lives off the state in the form of a housing allowance, food stamps, and free healthcare. The other is a single mom. She was a stay at home mom-very young- when her husband was killed in an accident. She is now working 2 jobs but only making minimum wage and there's no much opportunity in a small town. She has 3 young children and the expenses outweigh her income every month. She also needs healthcare and food stamps and will soon need a housing allowance because they can no longer afford their mortgage.

Now, you have to make a choice. Let both go hungry and without healthcare or provide food and healthcare to both. Which do you choose?

That's easy. I tell the fat, lazy bitch to sit on her couch and rot, and I give money to the mom who's doing her best. I make the decision of whom I wish to help and how much I wish to give. And if I decide to help no one, it's my prerogative. I should not be forced to help both because the system is lousy. Fix the system, then I might not care so much about paying into it.

The people who hate American are those who believe America owes them something. This includes those who collect welfare, but are able to work; those who want healthcare given to them by the State, but can afford it; those who believe that because they are of a certain religious or ethnic background are afforded certain rights because of who they are.

So I hate America because I think America has the duty to protect me (and others) militarily?

Umm, alright then. If you say so. :cuckoo:

Another one of your liberal brethren said something similar. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Why act stupid?

Because "what you are talking about" is absurd, and I'm pointing out why its absurd to say that being pro-America means expecting nothing from the government.

I'd give half my income to education if I knew it was being spent right and if I could afford it. I think education is the most important investment Americans need to be making right now: not the economy, not war, not health care, but education. It is the key to our future. When I have kids, I want to know that their generation is better than the generation before them.

Funding education is fine with me. Funding welfare so fat, lazy fucks can sit on their couch claiming "disability" is not.

Funny you should say that since Obama is the ONLY candidate talking about education being the future of this country and yet you still don't support Obama. :cuckoo:

If you expect the government (in this case, other taxpayers) to pay your way through life, you are not pro-America. If you have the ability to work and you choose not to, you don't deserve to eat.

Except that the whole "pay your way through life" thing is another right wing fantasy.

You're the ones who give corporate welfare. We reformed welfare and balanced the budget.

But don't let facts get in your way. And while you're at it, if you truly believe what you're saying, tell your red-state bretheran to stop taking MY money that I pay in taxes.

I think that's fair.

I am against corporate welfare. Fortunately, my party is, too.

I see you're trying to dodge the issue because you know I am right. That's quite amusing and telling.

Education is actually one of the few issues I agree with Obama on. If he'd talk more about giving money to education programs than about socialist healthcare and welfare, he might could win my vote. But he wants to socialize every aspect of the government, and sorry, I don't fly that way.

Your party whose leaders just helped to pass through $700billion to corporations?

Man, you are delusional.

did he say what his party was?

Considering he shills for McCain at every chance, I was assuming Republican. I forget that there is the breed of Republicans who vote Republican, hate Democrats, but claim to be Libertarian.
