I give Bernie Sanders a lot of credit for being honest about his political beliefs and intentions. Not only is he openly socialist, he also is open about his desire to stick it to taxpayers to pay for his dreams. Best of all, his honesty can be used against all the other Dems running for president supporting Medicare for all.



Yesterday, in a TV interview in Iowa, he admitted that Medicare for all would not onlyend private insurance, but that people would pay higher taxes to pay for it. Here is a two-munute video from Channel 8 in Des Moines, which, the interviewer notes, is the “second largest” insurance industry center:

Tax funded healthcare is much cheaper than private insurance health care because there’s no profit motive involved on the part of the insurance company. If you could eliminate the $18,000 families pay for health insurance and replace it with a one or 2% tax across the board for employers and employees it would be much much cheaper than what you’re doing now.

If you combine your total federal tax bill with your insurance premiums for health care and you’re cold pack this it will be much much cheaper than private insurance plus federal taxes. Single payer countries spend half per capita, than the US does.
