Benghazi: My take, and why conservatives and Republicans need to forget about it.

The narrative is too complicated for the American public. By the time you explain what happened and the phony story that went out, and why HRC should be considered at fault, the viewing public has already changed the channel.

There are some forums where a clear and concise summary might be useful in the future - maybe at a presidential debate - but I agree there's little to be gained by focusing on it at this time.

That is where I am at.
It is a tremendous travesty that 90% of the media simply walked away from the story as soon as it looked like it could injure the Dear Leader. It just goes to show just how FUBAR American media is.
This is my point, it needs to be dropped as a main focus simply because only the choir is listening. Sad, but true.

Benghazi.
My take - of course something is not right. And the administrations various explanations and contrasting statements raise serious and obvious doubts. A story that you would think the media would be all over. It has everything - scandal, violence resulting in multiple deaths, suspicion of cover-ups, conflicting statements and explanations that do not explain what happened. Something terrible DID happen, but unfortunately it will be years before we find out what. And that is wrong.
Why it must be dropped by the Republicans.
Conservatives like to see ourselves as people who face realities, and deal with them accordingly. Well, the reality is Benghazi is a dead story. Half of the nation doesn't want to know what happened, and most of the rest don't care. Don't care. Right or wrong - that is the reality. And as bad and hard to swallow as it is - we must face that reality and move on. The truth will come out. But it will not be now.

My take. Something violent happened at our Consulate in Benghazi. 4 Americans were killed. The scandal was that the Republican candidate politicized the tragedy and incorporated it into his campaign strategy. Talking points for the public were developed, keeping in mind that the group(s) who carried out the attack would also be privy to the public statements. Congress was given the classified version of events. The person who delivered the public message was unmercifully crucified and denied a promotion in a campaign of vitriolic hatred that should have been reserved for those who carried out the attacks. It was a sad chapter in the history of the Republican party. We should not forget and make every effort to bring the sons of bitches who killed the ambassador and three others to justice.

This is what I am talking about folks.
Look at this post. No mention of conflicting reports, no mention of officials giving opposite statements at the same time....just "those evil Republicans"
Amazing as it is, this is the prevailing belief of Democrats. And nothing short of the President himself coming out to tell them different will they change this belief.

When the country was attacked in 2001 both Democrat and Republicans came together, united against an evil foe. Hell, in 1998 when we were attacked overseas the Republicans in Congress stood behind Clinton (except for a couple of wackjobs). Not so much in 2012. The wackjobs have taken over the Republican mainstream. And the ever further wackjobs even attack you.

Mittens did try to politicize it right out of the box. He's was flailing like a boxer on his last legs. So, the admin DID obfuscate the facts. And in the end owned up to not having enough security, and there are aspects we won't know about because of CIA ties to groups.

the TPM's main complaint was "we didn't get to make a campaign issue of this." And they then wonder why they are dismissed.

The problem with your conclusion is that EVERYTHING fucked up about LIBTARDS, including Obabble, is a dead story. They will not discuss the issues be it the pipeline or Syria WMD or IRS lies. We should not drop anything. Instead get a bullhorn and blow shit up their ass every day. Take the gloves off. Be correct, have solutions, but call out Obabble and his lying administration at every turn...in the most forceful and direct way.

Well the problem is that the gop is NOT calling out the dems. We had 8 years of W, who had definite policy of using the military to take down a former ally turned dictator, so as to establish democracy. That didn't work. Now, we've had 5 years plus of Obama, who gave warm fuzzy speeches, and achieved Libya and Syria.

The reason no outlets beyond Faux and the Moony Times push this story is that most people don't care. Both parties screwed the pooch. Benghazi is just a footnote to a long failure of policy. Bang the drum to a tune nobody cares to hear.

Neither side can afford to admit Isreal's settlements are not democratic, and Iran for all it's warts is moe democrtic than Egypt. Our allies are not necessarily our allies, nor or our enemies necessarily implacable.

Talking Points Memo

Let's put it this way...2 years from now, when Hillary STILL isn't charged with anything, when Obama finishes his presidency without being impeached from Benghazi....when no legal convictions have been made at all....do you REALLY think the public will still care at all about Benghazi?

Really now? When it's nearly 4 years old and still no legal charges? All those investigations? All those hearings? People aren't going to think it's just a right wing witch hunt?

Just let it die already...move on to something new, you did it with the birther crap, now just do the same here.
