This goes along with my post on even with climate change, crops are growing better. If that''s the case, why should this premise/report be valid and make sense? :eusa_whistle:

Just a month ago we warned that food inflation was on its way. Today we got the first confirmation that problems are on their way. While headline data washes away the nuance of what eating, sleeping, energy-using human-beings are paying month-in and month-out, the fact, as WSJ reports, that beef prices surged by almost 5% in February - the biggest change since Nov 2003 - means pinching consumers and companies pocketbooks that are still grappling with a sluggish economic recovery. "Things are definitely more expensive," exclaimed on mother of three, "I can't believe how much milk is. Chicken is crazy right now, and beef - I paid $5 a pound for beef!" Just don't tell the Fed!

And, thanks to tax subsidies, meat eaters pay twice for it.

Fruits and veggies are higher too, in part, because without illegals, it costs more to produce. Small family farmers are losing their farms and big agriculture is buying them up for pennies on the dollar.

obama's FED is printing 75+ billion $$$$$ per month, how can the US ECONOMY not crash big time????

Food prices are going up right across the board. As extreme weather events impact an increasing portion of the world's agriculture, there will be more competition for the food that there is. Simple economics of supply and demand.

Ha Ha, Food prices have risen because of Green Energy Policies and Government Regulations.

WSJ is a rag, nothing more.

The Obama administration was urged on Monday to stop diverting grain to gas amid warnings of an "imminent food crisis" caused by America's drought.

US government forecasts of a 4% rise in food prices for US consumers because of the drought have sharpened criticism of supports for producing fuel from corn-based ethanol.

Meanwhile, research published last week by the New England Complex Systems Institute warned of an "imminent food crisis" because of the diversion of corn stocks to ethanol.

Government rules and regulations are driving the price.

Enjoy your ethanol added to your gas.
Enjoy your Green Energy in the form of Windmills and Solar
Enjoy that Pacific Smelt

Its you who are "Believers" who created this problem, that and a bunch of idiots who read the WSJ.

So after a drought in 2012, Obama dictates an increase in the use of Corn as Fuel.

Leftist/Liberal/Democrats policies are now responsible for any child that is hungry or starving.

Despite the lackluster results, the EPA has decided to slowly intensify the standards. In early 2013, the EPA decided to increase fuel standard from E-10 (an effective blend of ten percent) to E-15 (15 percent), slowly choking an already overburdened energy market. The situation is quickly coming to a head and the repercussions will soon be highly visible at the car dealership, gas pump, and grocery store if nothing is done to repeal these standards. Here are the Top 10 of many reasons to eliminate RFS once and for all:

How does this thread's contentions jibe with the one about agricultural production doubling and tripling?

Before long we're going to have to do something about this. I'm sure Congress has a plan. ;)

Why yes, Congress has a plan, oppose anything that the President supports, even if they supported it yesterday.

Nah... what we need is a Department of Food Security. The DFS! We'll gather together all the 'major players' in agriculture, bring everyone 'to the table', as it were, and solve this problem with a full-tilt federal program to make our food supply system™ more 'efficient'. We'll issue federal food cards to all citizens guaranteeing them a healthy, nutritious diet.
