The facts as presented are not backed up and I have not gone to do further research, but I have to say that the link in and of itself does not give credence to the claim that their argument was for the right to lie, slant maybe, not out and out lie even if the court ruled that they did have the right to lie.

The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast.

That quote appears to be slanted itself. So Mr. Gaddy seems to be in agreement with Fox News. They have the right to slant the news, just as Mr. Gaddy does.

The Fox argument could easily have been that they had the right to put whatever slant on the news they wanted. That would not mean that they argued for the right to lie and the truth of the matter is that the First Amendment does not prohibit them from lying. Doesn't mean that they do regardless of what Ms. Ayres claimed.

Edit: if they were lying, it would be up to the dairy farmers to bring up a suit against Fox. Ms Ayres case was about wrongful termination.

Beware the Fairness Doctrine.

Administration will use this blog site as another tool to build it's case for media control ...errrr... fairness by pointing out what it considers errors in reporting. Yes I have. The anchors approved of his delay on Gitmo. Yesterday I heard someone say that taking his time on Afghanistan is wise. O'Reilly treats him with kid gloves. Juan Williams is always fair. I could go on, but it's pointless because you honestly believe that MSNBC is unbiased.

The truth is all media is biased and people will be drawn to opinions similar to their own. It's human nature. And the president is now afraid that more people are drawn to the right. And on that, he may very well be correct. The independents are shifting, and that is who will decide the next election.

Well then, aside from the O'reilly thing (I've heard him savaged over very obviously talking-point issues by Bill O), I will say it is maybe just as Anti-Dem as MSNBC is Pro-Dem.
I don't go to either for ACTUAL news.
Which is actually a shame.
24 hour news networks should be opinion entertainment free.
