Atheists have always been an extremist minority worldwide...the good news is their numbers are continuing to decline.

"Atheists as a percentage of the world's population have declined since 1970 and global atheism is expected to face long term decline.[5]

On July 24, 2013, CNS News reported:

“ Atheism is in decline worldwide, with the number of atheists falling from 4.5% of the world’s population in 1970 to 2.0% in 2010 and projected to drop to 1.8% by 2020, according to a new report by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass."[6]

"Most societies or communities that have espoused atheistic beliefs have not survived more than a century."[8] Blume also indicated concerning concerning his research on this matter: "What I found was the complete lack of a single case of a secular population, community or movement that would just manage to retain replacement level."[9]"

"Yang Fenggang of Purdue University, in Indiana, says the Christian church in China has grown by an average of 10% a year since 1980. He reckons that on current trends there will be 250m Christians by around 2030, making China’s Christian population the largest in the world. Mr. Yang says this speed of growth is similar to that seen in fourth-century Rome just before the conversion of Constantine, which paved the way for Christianity to become the religion of his empire.[13]

Sorry, hardly an unbiased source.

We go through this every couple of years - these "studies" are incredibly flawed in order to push an agenda.

World-wide total of atheist is in excess of 16%.

Sorry, you obviously don't have the integrity to look at the source and see that the information they provide is sourced itself.

And they state that they didn't count Buddhists among the atheists, though technically, they are.

So your 16 percent atheism is including Buddhists. The studies are perfectly reasonable.

Atheism is an extremist minority, particularly in the Western world. And they are dwindling. For one thing, they tend to fail to reproduce at a rate that can backfill their numbers.

Their "studies" have been widely panned as fundamentally flawed.

Like the one they did about children of gay parents - almost laughable.

It is curious why the religious see atheism as a threat? Could it be they doubt their own belief system? Is it insecurity? Most atheists do not advertise as bias and prejudice among Christians keeps them silent.

5 facts about atheists Pew Research Center

"No one gets in trouble for saying that 2 + 2 is 5, or that people in Pittsburgh are ten feet tall. Such obviously false statements might be treated as jokes, or at worst as evidence of insanity, but they are not likely to make anyone mad. The statements that make people mad are the ones they worry might be believed. I suspect the statements that make people maddest are those they worry might be true." Paul Graham

Atheists have their number: How the Christian right is hastening religion’s decline
Research suggests Americans raised in Christian households are increasingly shunning the faith of their parents.

Of those aged 18 to 35, three in 10 say they are not affiliated with any religion, while only half are “absolutely certain” a god exists. These are at or near the highest levels of religious disaffiliation recorded for any generation in the 25 years the Pew Research Center has been polling on these topics.

Empty Churches: The Decline of Cultural Christianity in the West

Read more: Empty Churches The Decline of Cultural Christianity in the West dear ephesus

We've heard it all before - Christianity in Europe is dead. To quote the famous German philosopher Frederich Nietzsche, when it comes to Christianity in Europe... "God is dead."

We've come to believe that all Europeans see Jesus as irrelevant and faith as a crutch. We've been told that secularism has completely won over European culture replacing Christianity as Europe's worldview.

And, as a result, thousands of empty churches litter the European landscape while their culture shifts evermore towards secularism. Not only this (we're told) but Islam is quickly replacing Christianity as minarets tower over church steeples from Hadrian's Wall to the beaches of Sicily.

Idiots like you hate the truth, it points to your downfalls and you hate it so you claim lies as truth. Good luck.

Actually, it would seem that folks like you are the ones who feel threatened and insecure.

I'm not the one responsible for the decline of christianity. It's Christians who need to take responsibility for that.
