Army dad not allowed to visit daughter's school in uniform

Rochester Michigan – I have to wonder what people are thinking when someone in the Military is turned away from their own daughter’s school because they are in uniform! This is the United States of America, our Military personnel put their lives on the line to provide the freedoms we so enjoy, which includes the freedom to purse an education!

Well a security guard at one school in Rochester Michigan(Rochester Adams High School), turned away a father of a high school student, telling him he couldn’t enter the school because his uniform might offend some of the students! I am in shock that someone has actually said this to one of our service members, at a school in America!

He was told he could not wear a uniform cause "some students may be offended" by the uniform.
Yeah, pathetic fucking liberals. Just pathetic fucking liberals. Liberals are just fucking pathetic.

What's the rest of the story?

You sticking your thumb up your pathetic liberal ass.

No asshole. What is the full story? Who is the guard? What does he say about the matter? Is there any indication that liberals at the school have such a policy? Does the school have an ROTC program? Does the school invite military recruiters on campus several times per year like most high schools? Is this entire thing just a misunderstanding?

You fucking intellectual lightweights who think you have more respect for our military than liberals are a fucking blemish on society.

Your outrage is fake......just like your patriotism.

Fuck you. How about that you dipshit. I am not sure how much more you need to know, other than some school turning away a veteran in uniform who was there to visit his daughter because someone in the school "might be offended." The funny thing it is not even an official school policy, so I wonder why 4 different people from the school turned him away.

You need to know more?

Like I said, go cram your thumb up your ass.

You need to know more? You think that is a conservative policy? Someone may be offended by a veteran in an Army uniform and you need to know if that is a liberal policy?

Like I said, go cram your thumb up your ass.

Yes. I need to know more. Thinking people always need to know more. I don't believe that the school has a policy of turning away people in uniform because someone will be offended. If you believe that....you just might be an idiot.

Watch the youtube news report, you fucking unreal ignorant, annoying, politically correct, putts.

According to the news report he was told by FOUR different people that he the uniform could offend people. I wonder who they are saying that the uniform could have offended.

What's the rest of the story?

If you would have listened to the video, you would have learned the rest of the story. The superintendent apologized to the service man and told him there was no such policy against servicemen coming into schools in their uniforms. He would be working with schools to overcome this apparent misguided concept,

Your apology to the OP will be well received, I assume.

Another excuse to trade obscenities? The school guard should be in the unemployment line (though the guard may not get unemployment as the firing may be for cause). Unless the father was carrying weapons, and safety was a concern, the delicate feelings of students that might be offended are worth -0-, nada, zip.

So a school security guard overstepped his authority and turned away a man in uniform.

Should we fire him?

I just listen to an interview of his wife. When he was denied entry, they called the Superintendents Office to complain. They immediately sent someone out, he was still in the parking lot, to escort him past the Security Officer who had denied him entry.

Lt. Col. Colonel Sherwood Baker, who has served in the Army for 24 years, reportedly was told by school security that he would have to go home and change if he wanted to get in the school. He was told the uniform might offend some students, Baker's wife Rachel Ferhadson tells Fox 2.

Rochester Schools Supt. Robert Shaner, a veteran, apologized to the family.

In a statement to Fox 2, Shaner says: "The district has apologized for any perception that individuals in uniform are not welcome in the school. The district does not have a policy excluding individuals in uniform and will be working with administration and the firm that handles our security to make sure district policies are understood and communicated accurately."

So a school security guard overstepped his authority and turned away a man in uniform.

Should we fire him?

There need to be a reason as to why the Security Officer turned him away. Did he misunderstand a directive? Did he act on his own?

Was he a school employee or is the job contracted out to a security company?

We will never know those answers.

Yes, it would appear that the District Superintendent immediately apologized to the family, denied that the School District had such a policy, and promised to work with their outsourcing providers (including, presumably, the rent-a-pig security firm who supplies the warm bodies as security guards) to ensure that they understood not to do such a thing again in future.

This is probably a false alarm, in connection with Liberal Academia, but, other than a failure to read-through or listen-through or watch-through the entire article, it's an understandable gaffe. We've seen so much similar shit out of Liberal Academia - and worse - over time, that they've managed to stereotype themselves in that fashion, so that people have very little trouble leaping to such conclusions and usually being right.

Some conclusion-jumping was done here, based upon stereotypes, and, for once, it turned out to be a false alarm.

However, while we're at it, and just for grins-and-giggles, I'd be very curious to learn more about the background of the security guard, and what caused him (or her?) to make such a judgment call.

Just to tick-off our Liberal colleagues here, my first guesses are that the guard was either (1) a Muslim or (2) a ne'er-do-well Liberal himself, and that he reacted from his gut without thinking.

But that's just for-fun speculation.

Yeah, pathetic fucking liberals. Just pathetic fucking liberals. Liberals are just fucking pathetic.

I smell BS.

It was not JUST the security guard. According to the news report, there are 4 people that turned him away.

I am wondering who they thought he would offend with the school uniform.

Either way, we know what types turned him away right?

What exactly is the BS according to Bodecca and rightwinger the moron?

Rochester Schools superintendent Robert Shaner who is a veteran himself quickly took care of the situation apologizing to the family for their troubles.

Shaner sent a letter to Fox 2 which says, "the district has apologized for any perception that individuals in uniform are not welcome in the school. The district does not have a policy excluding individuals in uniform and will be working with administration and the firm that handles our security to make sure district policies are understood and communicated accurately."

Cue in rightwing outrage

Hmmmmmm... I wonder who the other 3 people were? Is there any online news source that sheds light on this? Were those other three students? Teachers? Office staff? Principals? Janitors? What? Could make a difference.

If the Security Guard were merely parroting the sentiments or instructions of the local on-the-scene school administrator(s), then, maybe the Security Guard is off the hook, and the District Superintendent should be chastising his local Principal.

And, if any of those other three were school staff, then, maybe the bitch-slap against Liberal Academia might hold up under a closer scrutiny in this instance, after all.

Sounds like the jury is still out, until we learn who the other three were (if, indeed, three others were even involved).
