Arizona pastor publicly supports death by stoning for homosexuals

"A Christian pastor in Arizona is publicly calling for gays to be stoned to death, and is angry that other pastors are not following God’s command “to kill the gays.”

In a recent sermon Pastor David Berzins of Word of Truth Baptist Church condemned all those who would refuse to endorse God’s call to kill the gays. In particular, Berzins was angry with a fellow pastor who had refused to endorse far-right pastor Steven Anderson’s call for death to LGBT people.

Bezrin and Anderson both argue that Christians should follow God’s command, as stated in Deuteronomy, that gays be put to death."

Guess when people equate the Tea Party, and some Christians to an American Taliban they're not just talking smack huh.

He is not a Christian. No where did Jesus Christ or His disciples teach the church to murder anyone in His name. Ever. You will not find such a teaching in the New Testament. That is not a Christian Pastor. That is an imposter pretending to be a Christian pastor and doing a bad job of it at that.

Update - after researching his name (which took less than 5 minutes) it turns out he is a writer, a director and this was part of a TV series script.
No, you and others on the Christian right don't want to kill gay Americans.

Instead you want to disadvantage them through force of law, deny them their civil rights, in violation of the Constitution.

What are you talking about? Disadvantage them? They have every right that any other person in America has, Clayton. I believe marriage is between a man and a woman and that is my right. To believe the Bible and obey God. Not man. Understand? Two men marrying is not a "right". It's an abomination. God said so in His Word and HIS WORD is the ONLY WORD that counts. Now I am against anyone harming a homosexual or calling them derogatory names in order to make fun of them. That is wrong and I have been consistent on stating that it is wrong. Goodnight, Clayton.

Unfortunately Jeremiah -- ImDB lists EVERY media production crew. INCLUDING TV evangelists. And the 9 episodes were bought and paid for by this guy's church. Not a drama. It was TV ministry. Reaching out into the pockets of those who think like this whacko..

Now -- it's POSSIBLE that this is just atheist or gay activism PRETENDING to be evangelists -- to make propaganda for their cause. But you'd have to know how long that church existed and if it has a congregation..

That's in lieu of wanting to kill them.

Gays can be proven. Mysticism can't. Should people be forced to follow rules from a being you can't prove even exists?

Thank you for looking at it, FlaCalTenn. It is hard to believe that anyone who was a real Pastor could preach such a lie to their congregation! The Bible clearly does not teach us to harm anyone much less stone them to death! It is bizarre that he would fail to remember the scriptures that tell us we are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. The bible never gives the church the authority to execute those they deem as heretics, unbelievers, blasphemers, homosexuals, etc.

Any church that acts as it's own legal system and government and judges people - even those outside of the church - with punishments reserved for law enforcement and a secular court / jury/ judge is an anti-Christ church and should be exposed as a false church. This man is clearly not teaching from the Bible. He is a false teacher.

People should never be forced to follow anything a church preaches - all have been given a free will - there is no legal authority from the pulpit that has the right to execute others they deem to be heretics, non - Christians, sinners, etc. The very idea is anti-Christ.
