Ever since Dick’s Sporting Goods and banks such as Citigroup made business decisions in line with the mainstream media’s push for gun control, some opponents of gun control have debated whether private companies pose a bigger threat to gun rights than government does.

The ignorance and stupidity of most conservatives is truly remarkable – this thread is further proof of that.

Guns don’t have ‘rights,’ people do.

And the doctrine of protected rights concerns solely the relationship between government and those governed, not between or among private persons and private entities – such as sporting goods stores and banks.

That a retailer decides to not sell a certain type of firearm, or if a financial institution decides to not conduct in firearms transactions, no ‘rights’ have been ‘violated.’

No one wants to ‘take’ anyone’s guns – the notion is yet another ridiculous rightwing lie.
