Anyone see Huntsman on Morning Joe? Did you see what he's for?

Forcing people to buy a product at gunpoint isn't radical?
It's the conservative plan, from 1994.

Did conservatism have a different definition then? If so, then Reagan is in that non-conservative group. All the people who were pushing this in 1994 were all Reagan Conservatives.

LEt me make a really simple point here so that you do not waste time trying to point out to me who has supported a mandate in the past, the present, or the future. I think it sucks, and I will tell everyone who advocates for it the same thing. Pointing out to me that Newt, Romney, Huntsman, and the Heritage Foundation supported it makes you look even dumber and more desperate to me than they do.

oooo gunpoint...... how dramatic......

Actually, the fine is about $695 per person per year or 2% of income, whichever is greater. The money is used to offset the costs of uninsured mooching services from hospitals for free, services which used to paid for by taxpayers. Which I why I can't understand why conservatives hate the penalty so much. They're always bitching about poor people not paying taxes. You'd think conservatives would be dancing with glee at the thought of poor people paying money that is essentially a tax.

What happens if you refuse to pay the fine? Do you really think that Obama was being honest when he said no one would go to jail for not having insurance?

Actually there are cost controls like the 15% limit on non-medical spening, guidelines for care to cut malpractice, and exchanges and transparency, $10 billion dollars for low cost clinics etc etc etc. AND MUCH MORE TO COME. Everyone but lying bought off Pubs say it will save money, not to mention 45k lives a year.

Tell me how is preventing companies from spending money on fraud detection going to prevent costs from going up?

And if you refuse to pay the fine?

GUNPOINT?

jesus Im sick of the fucking non stop lies

Wait a minute.

Behind EVERY law there is a gun, TM.

Let's not kid ourselves, shall we?

Whether you agree with the law or not, if one fails to obey that law, and them one fails to accept the findings of the court, and then if one refuses to go along peacefully, there WILL BE guns in you life.

The police are ARMED for a reason.

Umm...who gives two shits what 'Quantum Windbag' thinks?

I am pointing out the disingenuous Rightwing position that a mandate is somehow Socialist, or authoritarian.

I am highlighting their hypocrisy in now running in the opposite direction of their own plan.

I am not trying to convince a masochistic fringe element of the Right, who think the Heritage Foundation is Left-leaning.

Why keep listing people who support the mandate if you do not care what people think? Is it because you are incapable of articulating an argument yourself, so you have to resort to pointing at people you agree with in the hope that no one will notice that you are not actually saying anything?

Wait a minute. aren't you one of the people who insist that the rightwing is authoritarian? How is pointing to something they support going to prove that it is not authoritarian?

I am highlighting their hypocrisy in now running in the opposite direction of their own plan.

Like Romney? I am pretty sure that he still thinks that an authoritarian mandate is a good idea, even if he says he thinks it should be up to the states now.

Are you actually trying to convince a sadistic fringe element of the left wing who think that Brookings Institute is right wing?

Only Now? or then too? Because a TON of Repubs were for it! They're radical too...now, right?

Just a ton? You know that would only take around 12 Republicans, 8 if we include Newt. Yes, everyone who thinks a mandate is a good idea is a radical.

Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, Santorum, and Mitt are all radical?

If they all support a mandate they are, just like all the Democrats who voted for it.
