The Republican challenger should have EASILY beat Harry Reid, but Sharron Angle LOST!
Then, O'Donnell. Yes DL is a blue state, but she lost to a self-proclaimed COMMUNIST by 16 points. That is a disgrace!

Now Little Joey Miller in AK, a worthless candidate that refuses media interviews (I hate candidates that do that), is about to lose to a established candidate, who had to have her name written in. Making her write in her name instead of having it on the ballot was a Shit Hole Glutter Trash Politics!

You will say Rand Paul! First, Rand is in a very RED state. Second, Rand was running against a far leftist nut! Lastly, it wasn't the tea party that gave him a boost, it was Daddy. Like it or not Ron Paul built up a very very strong following! Rand was able to capitalize on that following!

Sorry, but if this election proved anything its that Tea Party candidates win primaries but lose big time in general elections!

You seem to think the winner of a primary race should step aside and let the loser run. Those days are over because of the TEA PARTY. Gone are the days of voting for the lesser of two evils. Voters should vote their conscience and vote what they believe, not vote for someone just because they are told this candidate can win.
Angle didn't win Nevada. Reid has the backing of the big unions, Hotel workers, casino workers and teachers make up probably 75-80% of those still employed in the state. Angle didn't win but she came closer to beating Reid than any time in his political career.
Alaska isn't over yet. Miller may have won. Instead of criticize Miller for not dropping out after winning the primary why not criticize Murkowski for not listening to the voters. If anyone screwed up Alaska she's the one that did it.
The TEA PARTY didn't win every race it backed but by election time even some Dem's were changing their tune and sounding like conservatives. We have made a difference and now that the election is over we start working on 2012. The dum's and repub's will be quite for the next 18 months but the TEA PARTY will be active and preparing to make even a bigger difference in the next election.

yes... a generic r could have beaten those d's.

but... just to clarify... he never said he was a commie that was tongue in cheek, no matter how many times the right wants to pretend it wasn't.

and rand would have been beaten if he had actually talked about what he believes. but apprently, tea party tactic is pretending they don't have to answer to anyone... like angle's rush for the hills after every photo op. and rand's whining after he was confronted with his own positions. the funny thing is that the tea people who lost appear to be the ones hand-picked by palin. that doesn't bode well for the r's in 2012 if the loons get her through the primary process.

other than that, carry on.

paladino, anyone?

Actually, the election results and exit polling data shows that the tea party did have a good deal of influence yesterday. There's no way around that that isn't just political spin, and particular races aside.

Whether that influence will extend beyond this year's elections is another matter.

True, but I sometimes think electability should be considered also. Rubio was very electable with or with out the tea party!

During the primary Captain Kirk nearly lost to the neo-conservative Tea Party candidate. Captain Kirk went on to win Obama's old senate seat!

I guarantee if the Tea Party candidate won, the Gianoulias would have taken the seat by 15-20 points!

Voting the lesser of two evils is the reason we have the mess in Congress that the TEA PARTY is trying to clean up. Vote for what you feel is right not who the media tells you can win. This election is a start and if we get enough voters thinking for themselves, instead of letting the media tell them who to vote for, we can get our Republic back. The TEA PARTY Tidal Wave is just getting going and it's not going away.

LOL.... Sore loser eh. :lol::lol::lol::lol:

The New York Times had a list of Tea Party supported, or supportive, candidates. They counted 135. Only about 45 won.

There is also a freak show at the beach walk in Venice, CA, which is in Harman's District, (in case you couldn't tell), but that is not all, that Venice Beach, in CA, is all about!

Some may say that is hard to tell them apart(?)! Sharron Angle said that, even. People may have seen all the pictures in the House Pledge, of National Geographic Magazine. The "Mad Magazine" part wasn't even in it.

This is the sort of influence that goes away in the face of $0.72 tril. for defense, $0.72 tril. for Social Security, $0.72 tril. for Medicare, and $0.72 for insepectors, veterans benefits, federal retirement benefits: And the other good stuff of Socialistm!

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Maybe Loooone White Man: Die and collect Social Security burial benefit, even!)

Yup, you Dems should be real proud. The only chance you can beat Republican women is calling them bitch, slut, or whore. The Dems couldn't and wouldn't run on their record or agenda, unless of course they made a commercial using a gun shooting Obama legislation.

This election ended up being much more than just a mid term shift. With the shift of parties in the Gov. races to the Congressional races, even in the Senate races, it was a referendum of the Obama agenda....no mistake about that.

LOL, I haven't been called a Dem in a long time! While I did vote for some Dems, I voted for Brady, Capitain Kirk, Joe Walsh (who just beat bean), Republican State Treasurer, Comptroller and Sherrif!

I wanted Angle to win, but I can make a point that not every part of the country is perfect for the far rightist candidates! If that makes me a Democrat, then so be it!

no different than 2006 and 2008.

don't make more of it than it is. and if the loons try to shut down the government, they'll go the way of newt's contract on america.

Actually, it took two elections to get where they were, Jillian. Those two elections were a referendum on Bush, agreed. But, it's been before my lifetime to see a shift of this magnatude in just one election.
Now, the republicans will have to walk the walk...no doubt. I'm hoping there isn't a party of "no", and some progress will be made in the right direction.

Too many voters base their vote on "electability" witch is looks and acting ability. That's why the TEA PARTY was created, to fight that. What good is a good looking Congress if they aren't worth a shit.

The thing is I think there needs to be made a distinction between "crazy" tea-party candidates and those candidates which are formidable opponents.

I usually wouldn't defend the tea party, but I can say that the tea party, while it has it's "crazies" and "wingnuts" does have sensable candidates that did win elections last night.

Rand Paul is one of their absolute greatest candidates and he swung the exact line that he should have swung... economy... economy... economy... economy. This election was about jobs. People in major swing states like Ohio and Illinois are furious at this administration as am I that in a time of recession when people are hurting Obama clearly has put more effort into unpopular ideological endeavors such as health care and cap and trade than in restoring business and create jobs. Rand Paul effectively exploited this anger by keeping the conversation off of his ideology and on... jobs, jobs, jobs.

The same can be said about Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, and Pat Toomey. Remember Pat Toomey won a democratic seat in a blue state. The west coast however was a slaughterhouse for the "tea partiers" simply because the debates turned on the tea party candidates from the economy to their more extreme views on moral issues which aren't mainstream out west. Ken Buck and his "separation of church and state" debacle is a perfect example. Murkowski and McAdams pounded Miller on abortion rights. And Sharon Angle isolated a lot of people with comments like "Sharia Law exists in two cities in Michigan."

Pretty much if the debate was on the economy, the tea party won. If it wasn't on the economy, well then... yeah.

This is soooooo awesome. The Dems lose like nothing that has happened in 60+ years... and it is "anti Teaparty".

Absolutely hilarious.
