The left has dug up some video from over 50 years ago on John Wayne and found some poorly worded statements of an actor in an offhand interview. He was an actor, not a politician. He never set public policy. He simply personified masculine American values on the screen. The smear job is the same thing they're doing to Tucker Carlson. This type of behavior goes way back. In the 1980s, they constantly criticized the greatest television show ever, The Dukes of Hazard, for absolutely nothing. They see racism in everything somehow. Dukes of Hazard reruns have even been pulled. They are running television and movies. They want to replace real movies and TV shows with feminized soy-boy BS.

Everyone knew the duke was a bit of a racist. For his time he was a moderate conservative.

I don’t think taking the dukes of hazard away has ruined tv but what has ruined tv is they don’t play bugs bunny oldies anymore. Too offensive.

If the Left wants to criticize someone for bigotry, they need look no further than their own Jim Carrey. Here is a man who is clearly suffering from severe mental illness, yet lauded by the Left.

It's remarkably incongruous; John Wayne made some general statements, and Carrey attacks specific individuals. Yet it's ok with the Left, because Trump et al have passed their ideological threshold and qualify as "bad people", thus any form of attack is justified in their minds.
