Answer: This beloved Jeopardy host passed away today

Mr. Trebek was a Canadian who accessed the American health care system when he came down with a case of PC.

Its interesting that foreign citizens will come here since our system is supposedly piss poor according to libs. He's not the only one, BTW. British crooner Mick Jagger went to New York for complicated heart surgery instead of having it done for free at the NHS.
Trebek and Jagger can afford to avoid going through the public health service that all their fellow citizens are stuck with, while others are bragging about how wonderful their "free" health care is.

If you had a serious medical problem, and you could afford to fly to the US to have it fixed, you can bet your life you would take the US.
I'll take socialized health care hypocrisy for $500, Alex.

Actually, both of those fellows, Trebek and Jagger, were in their late 70's when they had their health crisis and probably would have just been told "you lived a good life and here's a pain pill" in their own countries
Trebek died from a fatal cancer
His healthcare didn’t matter

He knew it was serious, but it wasn't fatal until he died.

There was always a chance he could have survived it and succumbed to something else.

The late, great Duke, John Wayne, had a serious cancer but escaped death from it. He ended up dying with 41 pounds of fecal matter in his colon, according to the autopsy and Dr. Michael Pinkus. What actually killed him was that he needed a colon cleansing.

Pancreatic Cancer is a death sentence

Trebek knew it and faced it with class

Our healthcare system is amazing if you are incredibly rich.
A lot of changes need to be made if we end up with Government care. Old people can be expensive. Old people in their last month or so trying to stay alive can be very very expensive. Hospice care and others are not cheap. I am not torpedoing the treatments, but the costs are astronomical and the government pays for it. It is not uncommon for an elderly person with sever health issues costing several hundred thousand dollars, a million dollars or more in his/her final months. The government will end up curtailing that.

Actually, the National Socialists under Hitler were huge advocates of Socialized Medicine.

That man made me feel like an idiot 30 minutes a day. If I got one or two of the damn answers in an entire 30 minute game show I was on cloud 9.
