"It's an honor people would think that much of me to do that," Cain said. "It shocked me that people have been so supportive."

Cain is the longest-serving warden in Angola history. He oversees a staff of about 1,500 people as well as a prison population of about 6,000 at the largest prison in America. Before going to Angola, Cain spent 13 years as the warden of Dixon Correctional Institute.
