Actually, if I understand correctly; and I'm certainly no expert, not even an amateur on these issues, but, I read on one of the mainstream sites (I wish I had posted it) that if Comey felt there was obstruction and did NOT report it, that he was in fact in violation of the law. He has a legal obligation to report any incidents like this. Yet he didn't. So, for the top police officer in the country, maybe in the world, this says all you need to know.

Now, I have been supportive of Comey even when he was taking shots from all sides. It would be difficult for anyone in such a hyper-partisan environment. I definitely feel he made some errors and the firing itself shouldn't surprise him. The timing of course, was everything. If it had happened in January the Democrats would be dancing, if Clinton had won it certainly would have happened in January.

Surely even some of the Never Trump Conservatives are starting to feel this witch hunt to get Trump is not good for democracy. It certainly isn't good for GOP government power. Once again, these issues aren't even close to being top of mind of average Americans. Trump won on economic policy above all else.
