You can't stop it....there are 0, AR-15s in France, 0, Fully automatic weapons in France, you can't buy them in stores, you can't own them, they are completely illegal over there.....there are no background checks because law abiding people can't own them at all.....France has extreme gun control with far fewer civil rights than we have....and their criminals get these guns easily when they want them, and of course actual terrorists, on their government terrorist watch lists got fully automatic weapons and murdered 140 people and injured hundreds of others............

Gun control laws will not stop determined terrorists or criminals....especially the ones who plan on dying....

We need a system that would have rejected the sale of guns to an asshole such as this.

This is what I don't get. Now if Florida is like Texas a CCW holder does not have to do the yellow paper. The CCW takes care of that because it's a more thorough check. Now when did this guy get his CCW? And while I understand not barring him for being in the terrorists watch list (it's not hard to get there) how was it that the feds did not pull his ticket while they were checking him out. If I buy a gun and a hit comes up no sale can happen. How did dude get by so long?

Figure out a way to determine which Muslim is the terrorist. Or the white guy who is mental....or the black guy who is mad at the white guy...I could go on but it's impossible. With that said I don't understand how this shooter in Orlando was investigated at least twice by the FBI and then this happens. There is a problem

It is a tough situation to be sure but we need to try to do something. Simply throwing our arms up & giving up because it's hard is not an option.

We do try ...we have made it illegal to use a gun for a crime and have placed a prison sentence on it. Same for felons owning or carrying guns.

We have mandatory, federal background checks to buy guns...which criminals get around easily....

We have done what we can do except the one thing that would stop mass shootings...getting rid of gun free zones.

Time to set up hidden locations for all personal firearms, stored in such a way that even scent dogs can't find them.
Also, time to form cohesive units such as private militias.
I believe there's a war coming and it will be between private gun owners and the government.
