Once we knock out most of the gang of fifty in the primaries next year like we got many last year, political life will get smarter. However, if the TP critters tie up their own party, Boehner will open up more and more up and down votes, which will strengthen the GOP mainstream party candidates in the primaries next year.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Winners in a bruising struggle with Republicans over homeland security funding and immigration, minority Democrats had unity on their side, along with a politician's understandable fear of terrorist attacks and the Constitution's separation of powers. . . .

The tea party-aligned, bitter-end Republican losers had outrage, and in the House, an unbending unwillingness to compromise that some of their own rank and file judged counterproductive.

The result was a rout that some Republicans say — and Democrats no doubt hope — portends poorly for their party.

Well of course you want them marching in lockstep with the Democrat party. so why even bother having our OWN Representatives to do as WE THE PEOPLE ask of them...they should do like Democrats and just walk all over us

Getting as many members of the TPM voted out of office as possible will of course be good for the country, and good for the GOP.

Boehner will likely be dealing with a democratic Senate come 2017, however.

If B is dealing with a dem senate in 2017, he wants as many TP critters gone as he can get gone. We are a two party system, which requires joint governance. The cloture rule in Senate has go to be thrown out.
