I never cared to see his tax return and if he releases it then I'd only consider it a matter of credibility of keeping a campaign promise. If he doesn't it wouldn't break my heart as this one won't kill anybody.

I'm really not sure he does. It seems to me those with the most taxable income pay the most in taxes. But my guess is that a whole lot of pages of the tax code are about defining what is and isn't taxable income.

With the Trump empire cut off by American banks, the family business has become dependent on Germany’s Deutsche Bank and investors from Russia. As Donald Trump, Jr. summed up in 2008:

“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

That alone provides one powerful reason why Trump must release those returns....and for those brainwashed Trump followers who would say that Junior's statement is 8.5 years old, Trump's loans are NOT so "short-term" as to now be discarded news.
For the sake of our own security, we MUST know if our president is too beholden to Russian oligarchs and if these oligarchs have created an environment where our president must choose between the nation's interests and his OWN economic self interests.

There are no legal obligations for Trump to release any of his tax information. But Trump is walking on dangerous ground, between his tweets, his broken promises, and his focus on himself. Trump went on meet the press in early 2016, and said he would release his taxes. A couple of months later he repeated, saying he would release them in another month. Then Trump claimed he was "under audit" and couldn't, later changed to wouldn't, release his taxes.

There is no legal requirement for Trump to ever release his taxes, and no matter what he does it won't change the outcome of the election. But as I said before, what will Trumps words mean to the rest of the world leaders.

When Eric Trump said that releasing his tax returns might cost Donald Trump the election, that raised more concerns about what was in them. Avoiding taxes is a right, if no an obligation of every tax payer, evading taxes isn't at issue in this case.
