Almost One-Half of America is 'Broke As a Joke'

We live in a country with a declining standard of living for many.
And the rest of us are doing fine.

Any suggestions how to turn things around?
EITC for all the middle class? Personal finance classes?
Teach people to live below their means? Better payday loan terms? What to do?

i guess then that me and my brother will be a part of the evil one per-cent as we are about to sell our condos, and both were paid in cash long long time ago.

Either give Dems control of congress or teach GOP how to compromise and what an presidential election means.

we dont see it here in Naples.....but im pretty sure we see a lot of it in places like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Newark,,etc. and yet those people still vote for politicians who keep them broke while stealing from the middle class?

What to do?

Die before you go broke, for starters..........as the globalization train left the station long ago, and even Trump will not be able to make America great again, as U.S. manufacturing is gutted and not coming back! Also, millenials cannot get out of mommys' basement, and won't. $20 trillion in debt with no hope on the horizon.

World War (since most wars are bankers wars), and than a re-set is the most likely way out.

This is your doom n' gloom report for today.

Why bother to have a savings for emergencies
when the Democrat party pushes the message that government
will take care of or should take care of all our needs....

As if city gov't can stop the horrible effects of GOP pander to the rich, soak the middle class national policy, defended to the death STILL.

47 per cent of U.S. citizens cannot come up with $400.00 in the case of an emergency, without having to borrow or sell something!

Yes, indeedee, we are exceptional, when compared to Greece.

Perhaps one shouldn't get their information from some blogpost written by someone calling himself by the name of a movie character.

Perhaps you should keep your head buried in the sand and forget about posting in this thread.

. Good luck finding buyers in this economy, but then again it all depends on what class level they are in, and what class level you are in. If compatible, then the sell will come, if out of the loop well then good luck.

I think handling finances should be part of school curricula. Teach people to balance a checkbook, put money in savings every week, even a dollar and leave it there, start a 401k or IRA as soon as you start earning money and add to it regularly, even if it is $5 here or there. There are many people who can't rub two dimes together though and it is a struggle just to survive, but make sure they learn how to do these things once they get some terra firma under their feet. And of course the real answer is jobs. Stop incentivizing big business and instead provide loans and grants through the SBA so everyone with a good idea and the desire can start their own business.

. Get scientist to study the concept of greed, and then figure how to extract greed from the human condition for starter's. After that go back to a merit based system that is fair and just. Restore the Dream.

. Yes they can try, but we should also accept their failures as well... Holding bad habbits up or bailing bad habbits out is unacceptable. We must run an incentive based system, and make sure that people are excepted based upon an agreed upon American values character, and not based upon a person's race, gender or worthless piece of paper that doesn't sum up the person's character, and yet gives them access in which is based upon that paper and not their character.

Trump wants to give the top 1/10 of 1 % a bigger tax cut than the bottom 120 million HOUSEHOLDS. That'll help lol...

You incompetent DUPE! You can't give the bottom a tax break. Why? Because, and let me spell it for you so that even a former UNION teacher like yourself can understand-------> T-h-e-y p-a-y n-o t-a-x-e-s! And you taught somebody something? And what was that, how to be a Marxist!
