OK, there isn't any doubt that Alex Jones is a bad person, and that he peddled a ridiculous conspiracy theory about the Sandy Hook shootings. Let's also acknowledge that some of the crazies who take him seriously made threats against some of the principles, and the actual victims were made to feel badly. For a while.

A billion dollars in damages?

No actual harm was done to anyone. No physical damage. No injuries, disease or death to anyone. And now with the publicity of the trial, there is essentially nobody remaining who takes the conspiracy theory seriously.

A billion dollars in damages?

Gimmeafukkinbreak. Give them each $10k and a couple of coupons for Arby's roast beef. That should about do it.

The American tort law system sucks. Big time.

From what I've seen, some father whose kid was killed in the shooting was pouring on the grief for the news cameras during a news interview.

Then as soon as the interview for the press was over that same father was caught on a cell phone camera laughing, smiling and joking. Like he was just acting for the news interview for a minute or two. Hence the term "crisis actor" that was used by many people.

After a caller pointed out that video to Jones and suggested that the guy was simply acting, Jones repeated that claim. Nothing at the time seemed like a better explanation for that father's bizarre behaviour because it was just very abnormal. And when you combine the acting with the incredible LWNJ Democratic party's knee-jerk authoritarian assault upon the people's constitutional 2nd amendment civil rights.

What Jones was not considering is the fact that not every father loves their child. Some fathers hate their children with a passion.

Some fathers are psychopaths. Psychopaths are very good at acting. That father may have just been a psychopath just acting for news cameras even though he was really glad that his kid was dead because his death would save him some time and money. It is not illegal to be glad when someone you consider to be a burden dies. For all we know, that father may have wished the kid was never even born and was happy as hell that his hated kid got shot dead.

Many people have different reactions to stress. For example, some people may laugh and smile while under extreme psychological stress. Others may sulk. Or whatever.

Soooo............

What about the media and all the lies, treachery, treason, fostering racism, backing rioters, and promoting hate over the past decades, that has led to thousands upon thousands of deaths in this country?

If THEY aren't going to be held accountable and pay back the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people they've damaged and killed with their hate, animosity, lies, and treason.........then Alex should be walking free.

You support the destruction of the character of people who lost their kids to murderer while a sick individual profits from his lies? You have a sick sense of justice. The only one who sucks is Alex Jones and he got what was coming.

This verdict is a direct attack on the 1st Amendment

The families are not entitled to be paid any money by Alex Jones

Support Alex Jones.....scum sticks up for scum, doesn't it?

Jones should be "punished" according to rational civil law. He is a tortfeasor. Give him some pain.

But a judgment in the millions of dollars is preposterous.

And he didn't "make money" on any of this. His audience did not increase by a single listener, and if he hadn't been bloviating about this be would have found something else to bloviate about.

American tort law can be distorted to a very harmful extent. This is yet another example.
