Images within posts are failiing to appear on me -- unless they're large images that have the resize bar, in which case I get the bar only, then if I click the bar the image shows up. Otherwise posted images and emoticons are invisible.

I know it's the browser (Opera) and AdBlock, because everything comes back if I either use another browser or turn AdBlock off.

Oh also YouTube videos play for one or two seconds and then go full error.

Already tried closing and reopening.

Suggestions... ?

(nota bene - I have been using "block element" to invisible certain images, for over a week)

Shockwave has crashed a lot. That's why I started using Opera. One reason anyway.

It's the porn bro

Try a different browser and it'll magically go away. IE, Chrome, Firefox, Tor, etc. There's a million of them.

Or try to fix shockwave on your current browser :lmao:

^But good luck with that though

For what it’s worth I’m using Opera and AB without a problem.

Perhaps a delete and fresh reinstall of the browser.

Since using Opera my ancient system doesn’t crash anymore and I’ve had no issues with viruses and the like.

No, I'm not running away to another browser every time. That's how I got from Chrome to Opera. The images do show in Chrome, but that's where Shockwave fucks up.

Tor isn't a browser - it's a route. ;)

It looks like Gifs do work -- at least a couple of known gifs did show up normally. Seems to be just Jpegs not happening. Looks like the Opera restart did get videos to work but images are still missing. Nothing in the list that matches them.

Do you think it is remotely possible that Adware is blocking links to known malware sites, just like it is supposed to?

As for YouTube, some vides contain ads which are blocked by AdBlock. My suggestion to you is not to use AdBlock if you have a problem with how it works. Frankly, most of the blocked images suck anyway.

Got it fixed -- I think. Not sure how except that on the list of blocks one looked different from the others. Wasn't appearling before. Removed that from the list and the images came back. Weird.

No, what it was blocking was emoticons like these :D and posted images. And the videos were various known innocuous ones that universally failed after two seconds so it was clearly operational.

Thanks all.

Because it was blocking links, like I said. That smiley, for instance, is seen to the browser as:

Code:
<img src="[URL="http://www.usmessageboard.com/view-source:http://www.usmessageboard.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif"]http://www.usmessageboard.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif[/URL]" alt="" title="Biggrin" smilieid="218" class="inlineimg" border="0">

You, obviously, added the link to block all elements from USMB in an attempt to removes something you objected to.

For the record, something that is clearly operational does not fail after 2 seconds. The way it works in reality is that the browser loads the video before AdBlock can kick in and block it.

"operational" here means something in the execution failed -- as opposed to the target (video) being a bad source.

 it's never ending...

Its never ending that a guy that doesn't understand how computers work wants to lecture the guy that does? Yes, I run into that all the time.

AdBlock blocks ads in YouTube videos. If you do not have everything set up properly this will cause Flash to crash after a couple of seconds. This is not an operational error, it is user error.

That's not what happened. But I understand you'll throw a tantrum if you don't get the last word. In a thread you didn't create about an issue that's already resolved.

As I said... it's never ending.
