ACLU hard at work.

Gotta agree with you on that. If they did use the kid like that, then I would want them found out because that isn't right.

Welcome to the gay cabal, baby.

No, see, that's why you keep losing, that wasn't your point at all, you were trying to make the connection that talking about a person who fights for equal rights is somehow talking about sex, which you failed at. Dive just thinks about things more so often I can agree with his view, yours, you are just flat out wrong and now clinging to an intelligent person just because their angle somehow appears to support your already smashed argument.

It's exactly my point. Gay rights is about aberrant sex. You're a liar if you say the two can be separated.

This insanity makes a good argument for home schooling! as the libtards are so fond of saying.. " teaching 6th graders about homosexuality isn't a priority" obamalama is fighting two wars and has a bunch of terrorists he needs to figure out what to do with now that he's opened his big mouth and made insane promised to the democwat socialist libtards on the left.

Home schooled kids kick other kids asses, by and large, academically and otherwise. I tried it and it did not work for me, but if it works for you, you go, girl.

If you don't belive in homosexuality and your kids are in a public school, there is no "opt out."

Hmm .. then no children who do not believe in christianity should have to go to public schools either.

You're an idiot if you think public schools are not going out of their way not to deal with Christianity in any deferential way shape or form.

It's called robbing them of their childhood, for no other justification than to assuage the self-esteem of homosexuals.

It's "robbery" of what your idyllic conception of childhood is. I'm more inclined to agree with Joshua Meyrowitz's observation that “those who insist upon the "naturalness" of our traditional conceptions of childhood are basing their belief on a very narrow cultural and historical perspective. Childhood and adulthood have been conceived of differently in different cultures, and child and adult roles have varied even within the same culture from one historical period to another.” Perhaps you can provide grounds for claiming that tardy intellectual development and social awareness is some kind of virtue?

Explaining to a grade schooler that homosexuality is based on a man inserting his erect penis into the rectum of another man, or two women stimulating each other vaginally, orally or otherwise, is "intellectual development and social awarenes"?

What do you teach kids being gay means? A propensity to be a great interior decorator?

No more than they do civil rights history.

Sexual awareness is a component of overall social awareness. I wouldn't expect you to realize otherwise, considering that you're not aware of the reality that "innocence" is just ignorance in a frilly pink dress.

Grade school children are entitled to innocence.

The only religion that gets treated deferentially in pop culture is Islam. Nobody can mess with their faith based morals.

aw cmon---educate the little bastards--teach em how to use reciprocal saws and forklifts:lol:

The time has long passed since I regarded ignorance as an entitlement for children. It would be more appropriate to regard it as a burden and stumbling block that clouds the abilities of rational perception and decision-making. Overall, I'm inclined to agree with the analogy used by John Holt in Escape From Childhood.

Most people who believe in the institution of childhood as we know it see it as a kind of walled garden in which children, being small and weak, are protected from the harshness of the world outside until they become strong and clever enough to cope with it. Some children experience childhood in just that way. I do not want them to destroy their garden or kick them out. If they like it, by all means let them stay in it. But I believe that most young people, and at earlier and earlier ages, begin to experience childhood not as a garden but as a prison. What I want to do is put a gate, or gates, into the wall of the garden, so that those who find it no longer protective or helpful, but instead confusing and humiliating, can move out and for a while try living in a larger space.

I've seen that you possess the typical conception of childhood as a period of loving safety and protection from iniquitous elements, but what you've not realized is that the modern conception of childhood is not more than a few centuries old, and the modern conception of adolescence younger still. I've seen few reasons for claiming that such institutions are positive or beneficial, and numerous reasons for maintaining that they're not. Hence, you'll need to provide empirical evidence that children and youth are aided by ignorance bred through deliberate indoctrination for me to accept such a premise.

Do you intend on swaying every topic into a religious discussion?

Ask a muslim what they think about Harvey Milk in grade school and then you tell me.

Most Muslims are anti-gay, so is that what religion you are? Doesn't matter really, it's history, and history is part of education, without learning history we will make the same mistakes, period. Now, DiveCon made a good point, if the kid did not choose that topic on their own, then something is wrong, but if they did, then that's it, the child did nothing wrong in choosing this particular part of history to do a report on. I remember being in school, and report topics which were not over done always got the better grades, so sometimes we would pick topics that were obscure to get the better grade, this could be such a case. Then the teachers and school admins are seriously over reacting and the ACLU did the right thing (a rare occasion).

No, parents have a right not to opt out, or not have that dealt with in their grade schools.

that too
sounds like SOMEONE set this up for a fight

and i cant stand people that use kids to fight a political battle

that is a FAIL

we dont KNOW what the motivating factor is behind the choice of this subject for her report
