Abortion: Which Side Is Fabricating?

This is one of many instances that I consider Obama to be a coward.

Why wouldn't a legal medical procedure be covered...especially when erectile dysfunction is...quite a double standard.

We are left with either he is lying, or he doesn't have a good working knowledge of the program he is pitching. Or both.

All are equally horrible choices.

Meanwhile, he's pandering to every special interest group, like Ravi says, cowardly. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, and the oil in this case is just telling everybody what they want to hear. Like any good Con, the Marks have to be placated or it won't work. Problem is, those pesky little facts keep getting in the way.

It is? I worked in a pharmacy for 3 years as a pharmacy tech. I never saw a single insurance policy that covered Viagra or any of its substitutes, while I saw every policy cover birth control.

Unless insurance companies and Medicare have changed in the last three years, erectile dysfunction treatments are not covered.

I don't believe Medicare covers the meds, but many private carriers do; some limit the number of doses per month or require prior authorization.

The refusal of so many health insurers to cover contraceptives for women is one of the oldest disparities in the health insurance industry. In what many women’s rights advocates regard as an illogical inconsistency, more than half of prescriptions for the anti-impotence drug Viagra received health insurance coverage in 1998. A 2007 Mercer study of large employers revealed that only about 30% denied coverage for erectile dysfunction medications.

Looks like politico doublespeak to me, too.

If the public plan does not include reproductive choice as part of it coverage it's another example of how classistly immoral our society is becoming.

Last I checked no one gets murdered in order to fix erectile dysfunction. Further last I checked there is not around half the Country opposed to erectile dysfunction treatment. More evidence of your blazing IGNORANCE.

So if I can drum up support from half the population we can get the government to stop paying for your medications? Sweet!

You are such a hypocrite and the funny thing is you can't even see what an idiot you really are.

The only IDIOT here is you trying to compare abortion to erectile dysfunction.

Most Medicare Prescription Drug Plans Will Drop Coverage For Erectile Dysfunction Medications In 2007

First article is 7 years old. Second one supports what I said. I saw every kind of major medical plan come through that place, from Blue Cross/Blue Shield to every new Medicare plan that rolled out, and not a single one covered those pills, not even the Medicare plans. And that was before the article was written about Medicare dropping coverage. Most of them never covered it in the first place.

Ravi, you don't need half the public to support dropping the coverage of erectile dysfunction pills. Most companies don't cover it in the first damn place.

Besides, there's a free way to prevent abortions: get condoms from the local clinic. Tell me a free way to prevent ED, and we'll talk about what's equal.
