Why is abortion the number one issue with all democrats, all the time?

There is a flip side. When you find people who oppose abortion you have generally found people who operate from the right motives on other issues as well.

Its a simple test and I can use my wife as an example. She is pretty much apolitical with little interest in or patience with political theorizing except for abortion...which she views as barbaric and revolting. Her only consideration when voting is "which one is the pro-life candidate or position?" And it serves her well. With that simple moral guide she invariably gets it right on everything else...from guns to taxation to federalism to immigration to judicial restraint...and so on and so on.

But why? Why is it that an obsession with more abortions is always paired with, for example, an anti-second amendment stance, socialism and demands for open borders?

I think the obvious answer is that they are all the work of the same evil author.

I suppose it has never occurred to you that you're wrong on all of these issues. And just to be clear, Democrats don't favour "open borders".
