this is just bizarre

here we have the 'Party Of Reagan' electing the most powerful ally Putin and Russia could imagine, completely ignoring Reagan's distrust and contempt for Russian autocrats

now they can't get enough borscht

Yeah.

For years on here I have been picked on for my respect of the Red Army' accomplishments in WWII and how that could have influenced Potsdam.

Now the Conservatives are Putin's friends.

In some respects I am happy about that. A strong Russia can fight the "istans" better. A strong Russia might be a buffer (or Ally!@#$@) to China. In a way I felt better when just Russia was our threat and in hindsight I would have GIVEN aid to the Russians for their war in Afghanistan.

But yeah, unless the theory is keep your enemies close, I am amazed.

Sort of reminds one of the Berlin Rome axis; two different régimes with bizarre similarities. The U.S. and Russia together could pretty much do anything they pleased in the world.
