Labour are looking to bring in an act to ban this practise in the UK. Most tories are against it as well. Especially in their own constituencies.

But it is probably the only part of the truss agenda still standing. And so govt whips have made it a "confidence" vote.

Basically supporting labour means a vote of no confidence in truss.

But in a trussian twist she has already said that she will disregard the vote if it goes against her.

In another trussian twist this also constitutes a reneging on a manifesto promise from 2019.

Labour needs around 40 tories to vote with them. That looks unlikely and the real battle will be fought another day.

It gets deeper and deeper. There isnt any calamity that the introduction of Jacob Rees Mogg can not make worse.
Fracking is a policy that just one person is backing. There are no benefits to it.

Fracking is just drilling for oil sideways isn't it?
Whats wrong with that?
Any potential benefits will be at least 15 years coming. Its bad for the climate and its bad for the environment. There are greener measures that would make a uicker return.
Of course the green energy lobby doesnt donate to the tories. The hole fracking debate is fracking the tory party.
We are safe from this in Wales but its a big threat to my friends in England. They deserve better.

Thanks to fracking America has much more oil and gas than libs ever dreamed of

But if the Brits want to shiver on the dark thats your choice

Its just an act of environmental vandalism.

But to expand on your point. Fracking would not benefit the UK at all. The gas ould sell on international markets at the market rate. The quantity blasted out of the earth ould not be sufficient toaffect the price.

Renewables are cheaper, more environmentally friendly and easier to set up.

Your Every Man For Himself attitude is out of character for a lib

More oil produced in the UK makes a profit for the company and pays the wages of the workers

It also improves UK balance of payments deficit which is good for everyone

But its your decision so do what you want

What is fracking? Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking” as it is more commonly known, is just one small method of the broader process of unconventional development of oil and natural gas. Fracking is a proven drilling technology used for extracting oil, natural gas, geothermal energy, or water from deep underground.
