A Child’s View from Gaza, a traveling exhibit of the artwork of Palestinian children living in the Gaza Strip, opened in downtown Oakland, California this week as scheduled, despite the fact that the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland (MOCHA) canceled their agreement to house the project this Fall. After the news on September 8 that Zionist groups had successfully pressured MOCHA’s Board of Directors to cancel their commitment to host the exhibit, local sponsor Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) rallied the Bay Area and online community to stand together and “Say No to Censorship!”

According to statements by MOCHA’s Board, the decision came in light of complaints from Jewish groups and calls from other concerned “constituents” who insisted the violence depicted in the artwork was inappropriate for children. However, as MECA founder and executive director Barbara Lubin explained to Electronic Intifada, the incident is by no means an isolated or random instance of censorship: “Anybody who knows this issue knows that the Jewish Federations of North America and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs have launched a multi-million dollar project to combat what they call the ‘delegitmization’ of Israel.” According to Lubin, this campaign works to censor Palestinian cultural initiatives and choke efforts by the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement, and “what they’re doing is financing the work of silencing and shutting down anyone who wants to talk about what’s really happening to Palestinians.”

I've dismantled the organization behind this "unsolicited" Palestinian child "art" in this thread. Took me approximately 3 seconds to see what they're about upon learning it was MECA. The op is correct, they're Jews among them but not the typical temple going religious type. They're the UC Berkeley non religious socialist "human rights" activist NGO types. It was simple to see who runs this organization and find their past statements and activities. Make no mistake about it. The children's art is a definate propaganda ploy. These kids didn't get up one day and decide to corlor this crap. They were asked to for this very propaganda purpose.

Judging by the clothing I'd say mid 80's? Or was that the winner of the properly indoctrinated child of the year award in the false victimization to justify the destruction of Israel category? I once drew a picture of some ninja turtles brutally destroying a group of foot soldiers as a child. That doesn't mean I saw it in real life. However, I'm willing to bet that these kids get all they need from school and on tv. I'll give it an "A" for effort and an "F" for intent. The Palestinians ought not to make their propaganda so obviously coached to children.

MECA is a member organization of International ANSWER’s steering committee, the Justice in Palestine Coalition, the Middle East Policy Advisory Committee, the Palestine Solidarity Movement's divestiture project, the United For Peace and Justice antiwar coalition, and the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation.

MECA is also the fiscal sponsor for the International Solidarity Movement(ISM). According to investigative journalist Lee Kaplan:

Box to which ISM supporters can send their tax-deductible donations matches that of the Middle East Children’s Alliance, one of the organizations that the ISM had previously used to launder money ... MECA supports the Ibaada Center in the West Bank, which the Jerusalem Postdescribes as an indoctrination center that teaches Arab children to reject Israel’s existence and to support Palestinian terrorism aimed ultimately at conquering Israel by violence. The Center’s walls are festooned with scenes of terrorist "resistance."

MECA has also promoted a clinic in Gaza, the Union of Health Work Committees, whose former manager was a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which is classified as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department.
