Came out in 2002. I just read it for the third time.. It paints lincoln as a super-corrupt politician who strongly supported the so-called American System which was about a strong central govt and a national bank and high tariffs. Lincoln wanted more money and power for himself and his cronies and that's why he so strongly opposed letting the south leave the union.

Sounds great. Does it go into his opposition to the Jesuits?

Nothing wrong with high tariffs. We could use some of those now. . .

And a strong non-debt based currency, like the kind that Lincoln introduced. You know, the "Greenback," which he was killed for?

Like a high tariff on crude oil imports. While we lift the 40 year old ban on U.S. oil exports.

Or a tariff on imports from nations that have no environmental protection or workers protections, they ship shit here made by paying workers 5$ a day with no health care, overtime, vacation, etc., pollute the shit out of the earth, etc. and flood our markets, and our consumers eat that shit up while putting everyone out of jobs.

If the government puts tariffs on that stuff, those governments have two choices, give the money to our government, or raise wages for their own people and protect the environment, or lose jobs to us. Pretty simple stuff.

And I agree, we should life our ban on oil exports and energy exploration.

This whole globalist free trade crap has wrecked the nation while enriching the economic corporate elites.

A better read, and probably a much truer picture!
