Oh, is this another thread about Truth Matters spreading lies again???

Illegal aliens are getting refunds back home in Mexico and almost 1/2 of Americans pay no Federal Income tax..........and one has to wonder why there is a short fall of $???

Got some documentation on that?

Tax loophole costs billions - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

Here's your proof of Illegal Immigrants receiving tax refunds...........Thanks DiamondDave!!

A tax loophole gives billions in tax credits to illegal immigrants, WTHR reports:

The loophole is called the Additional Child Tax Credit. It’s a fully-refundable credit of up to $1000 per child, and it’s meant to help working families who have children living at home.

But 13 Investigates has found many undocumented workers are claiming the tax credit for kids who live in Mexico – lots of kids in Mexico.

“We’ve seen sometimes 10 or 12 dependents, most times nieces and nephews, on these tax forms,” the whistleblower told Eyewitness News. “The more you put on there, the more you get back.”

When democrats tell us they intend to lower student loan interest by tapping into social security and medicaid it's obvious that they have no intention of cutting spending.

Only if you refuse the very definition of words

Democracy is often confused with the republic form of government. In some definitions of "republic," a republic is a form of democracy. Other definitions make "republic" a separate, unrelated term

Forms

Main articles: Varieties of democracy and List of types of democracy

Democracy has taken a number of forms, both in theory and practice. Some varieties of democracy provide better representation and more freedom for their citizens than others.[50][51] However, if any democracy is not structured so as to prohibit the government from excluding the people from the legislative process, or any branch of government from altering the separation of powers in its own favor, then a branch of the system can accumulate too much power and destroy the democracy.[52][53][54] Representative Democracy, Consensus Democracy, and Deliberative Democracy are all major examples of attempts at a form of government that is both practical and responsive to the needs and desires of citizens.

The following kinds of democracy are not exclusive of one another: many specify details of aspects that are independent of one another and can co-exist in a single system.

That's great, we are a Republic, not a democracy. The FF even claimed a Democracy is destructive and the worst form of Government possible. You can have all the forms of Democracy as you like, you are not specific, you say “Democracy” and that is mob rule. A Republic might have similarities to a Democracy but the actual meanings are very different seeing as one is mob rule and the other to literally protect minorities from mob rule.

76% of the middle class was willing to have their taxes raised

While it could mean they want their taxes raised, I don't think it necessarily means that. The poll worded that questions as

•76% of middle class voters believe that the middle class should contribute to the solution.

Contributing to the solution can be raising taxes or cutting benefits.

It could also mean voting to tax the rich, that would be contributing. :)

What will the government do if we all quit our jobs go on unemployment, and stop buying taxed items?

Americans making more than 1 million dollars should pay more in taxes to help reduce the national debt...........................................................................................................................

77% said yes

They are wrong though. No one should be paying more in taxes. The government recieves over 2 Trillion in revenues every year. There is absolutely no reason they shouldnt be able to cover all there expenses with plenty left over.

There are those who will always want the other guy to pony up more than he or she.

too bad for you we have a democracy

No. We have a Republic. There is a difference despite the fact that you refuse to acknowledge it. If there wasnt a difference, we wouldnt be using different words.

No, actually I don't think it could since it says "middle class voters believe that the middle class should contribute". So that has nothing to do with taxing the rich. That would be a different question.

In every government text book you will see that a republic like we have is a type of democracy

Or more likely that they already consider themselves as part of the solution as they already pay taxes.

The question done not even imply that their personal taxes would need to be raised, it simply asks if they should be part of “the solution”... and that could mean civil war, higher taxes for everyone, higher taxes for only the rich, massive spending cuts and so on... the hypothetical solution list that was never presented could be anything and everything. TM proves this when she says things like “what did you think they thought it meant, passing gas?” The truth is when no solution is given to evaluate then yes, passing gas might be a possible solution in someone’s mind.

We can claim they meant the solution was massive cuts in deficit spending… TM can claim it means massive tax hikes on the rich and the middle class. Another person can think it means farting in a box and mailing it to the Government… All are equally eligible when nothing is presented as a solution for context.

You've had this argument here before.........that's not what you said, you said we were a democracy...............perhaps a "type of democracy" but not just a democracy.

Quit making the same stuff up, over and over and over. It's annoying to see you lie then crawfish out of it. :doubt:

Right it could literally be anything, I was just giving two of the most likely scenarios that people probably would have considered when contemplating this question.

TM why are you ignoring the fact that 87% of the people want the austerity programs you dont?

In every government text book you will see that a republic like we have is a type of democracy

Maybe not every text book, but the issue is we are not a democracy, we are a type of democracy that is called a Republic.

Once again, a democracy is literally mob rule, a Republic is literally a protection against mob rule. In all actuality while they both share voting as part of the process the outcome through the process is very very different.

As Avatar said, if a Republic was a Democracy then why are there 2 different words? Because if you look them up you have to very different meaning.

Sorry, I agree with you, I was simply expanding by adding my opinion of how people would read the questions asked.
