Here Are 7 Words That The Trump Administration Is Reportedly Banning At CDC

What the bleep? Lena Sun and Juliet Eilperin reported for the Washington Post that the Trump Administration has now identified 7 words that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) can no longer use in official budget documents. According to the article, Alison Kelly from the CDC’s Office of Financial Services met with senior CDC officials for 90 minutes on Thursday and gave them the following list of banned words, not in any particular order because they all supposedly will be banned:

  1. vulnerable
  2. entitlement
  3. diversity
  4. transgender
  5. fetus
  6. evidence-based
  7. science-based
/----/ Got any fake outrage over this? Resident Barack Obama "will not utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ and as matter of policy, nobody in the administration will say the words...President Obama MADE the words "negro" and "oriental" illegal IN FEDERAL law...The Obama administration has directed the military to not allow personnel to say “Christmas,” in spite of the holiday’s status as a federally-recognized holiday.

Oh, so all you have is more of the "But Obama did it too!"?

This is, as I understand it, the first time in the history of the CDC that this has happened. Banning words in political or social situations is bad. But to ban the use of words by a scientific/medical institution? Can you not see that this puts language above the actual scientific research done by one of the top medical organizations in the world?
/——/ You got it libtard. We’ll throw facts in your face non stop. Deal with it.

Facts? What facts? Trump has banned certain WORDS. Nothing changes in the research. Only the words used to report it.

I can deal with it just fine. It is a nonsense argument. It is restricting the language used by one of the top research facilities in the world based on some version of playground arguments of "He started it!". Notice, there was no restriction on the actual research. So this accomplishes nothing except to support PC language. Which, if I am not mistaken, most conservatives (even the pseudo-conservatives) have ridiculed for years.
It’s the Washington Post....propaganda wing of Democrats.

So no actual rebuttal, just the cry of "Fake News!"

Again, dude......you're using evidence. These are batshit conspiracy theorists. They'll just expand the conspiracy to encompass anyone who contradicts them.

Watch.

so THIS is the next anti-Trump thread
hahahhahahahahhahahaha

Do you have anything to add concerning the actual topic?

So far, I haven't seen any rebuttals beyond "Obama did it too!" or "Fake News!".

So far the evidence shows this to be accurate. Whether it is anti-Trump or not is irrelevant.

Like when the Washington Post reported that the crowd size at Trump's inauguration was smaller than Trump insisted?

On Day 2 of his presidency, Trump wages war with the media over the size of his inauguration crowd

How'd that work out again?

FACT CHECK: Did President Obama Ban the Military from Using the Word 'Christmas'?

President Obama Bans the Words 'Negro' and 'Oriental'?

But to a conservative 'evidence based' is a phrase with only four letters.
President Obama Bans the Words 'Negro' and 'Oriental'?

Thanks for the link.

Yes. Optimum word here is “reportedly.”

Often times the "language" used in documents can have a profound effect on outcomes. Even if they mean the same thing. Take the Comey briefing for example. They changed "gross negligence" to "extremely careless". The difference? A somewhat embarrassing admonition, vs. a criminal charge.
So I can see the need to remove words that lend themselves to ambiguity from technical documents.
