60 Years Ago Today - Beatles on Ed Sullivan

The Beatles appealed mainly to young girls when they first arrived in America.

I remember watching it....I was 9.50 at the time.

I heard this morning (on The Beatles Channel) that it was a five song set, three songs then a commercial, then two songs but did not remember that.

Back then pretty much all their songs were under three minutes.....So roughly 15 minutes that changed America.

They were the greatest group of all time! I saw the Ed Sullivan show live when it happened. I was 6 years old and thought they were singing into golf balls!

Those bubble gum songs were entertaining if you were a 16 year old girl.

I never liked their drug music or much of anything that they ever did.

Of course given their world wide popularity that pretty well puts me in the minority.
