5.5%, the best it's been since 2008????

This 5.5% unemployment rate is pure bullshit like Obama's other "accomplishments".
I would love to see them revise the data to include those who have exhausted their unemployment benefits.

I'm still seeing once thriving shopping centers that are virtually abandoned. Other retail stores have been replaced by second hand thrift shops.
Once proud working class neighborhoods are overrun with multiple low income families living under one roof.

Nobody has done more to destroy Middle Class America than the modern Democrat Party and this idiot puppet living in the White House.
The Republicans are not far behind because most of them fear the political consequences of standing up to the immigration, environmental, and corporate special interests that have imported unskilled low wage earners while driving our once thriving manufacturing and industrial base overseas.

Are people seriously trying to argue that ending UE benefits somehow convinced businesses to start hiring more people?

:lmao: What a joke! Don't get me wrong, not extending UE benefits was the correct thing to do. But it doesn't stimulate job growth.

The far rights and the enemies of America cry at 5.5% unemployment. It has taken more than six years to repair the Bushies' economic collapse, and the far right thugs are crying?

Yo, FACT in your face, and you still can`t comprehend?

Three of the biggest contributors to the 5.5% "unemployment" rate reported for Feb. 2015:

1.) More people have given up looking for work altogether, and so are technically not counted as being part of the labor force any more. But despite the 5.5% "unemployment" rate, the percentage of Americans in the labor force is the lowest it's been in generations.

2.) When enough TEA Party congressmen voted against extending Unemployment benefits longer than 99 weeks and the extension didn't pass, those benefits started expiring in 2015... and many of the people who had gotten them, got jobs instead.

Your twosie contradicts your onesie. Good job. Thanks for needlessly reminding us you're a fucking retard.

But Bush opposed and tried to stop the federal intervention that did the most to cause the Great Recession, i.e., Freddie and Fannie's disastrous intervention in the housing market, which in turn led to the bundling of sub-prime loans into toxic assets, which triggered the financial meltdown. If the Democrats had not repeatedly blocked Bush's attempts to rein in Freddie and Fannie, there would have been far fewer sub-prime home loans to bundle into toxic assets, and thus far fewer toxic assets and a much milder recession (or even just a modest slowdown).
Funny how F+F's share of the market went from 75% to 25% under Booosh crony regulators in 2003-6, brainwashed functional MORON. It was all over before Boooshies started trying to mess with F+F, which had next to nothing to do with the corrupt Pub meltdown of the world economy. DUH.

This is REAGAN'S way of figuring UE, dingbat dupe. And any ruin of the nonrich and the country is just continuation of Voodoo. Jeebus you hater dupes are ignorant a-holes...see sig.

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.
Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:
1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.
Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.
But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):
1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%
A 13% drop since 1980
2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:
1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%
An increase of 16% since Reagan.
3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.
1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)
A 12.3% drop after Reagan.
4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:
1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%
A 45% increase after 1980.
5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.
Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:
1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%
A 5.6 times increase.
6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:
1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%
A 10% Decrease.

They've never been excluded. The UE rate has never been based on benefits.

Forbes magazine, March 2nd, this year issue, headline: "Unemployment Is Dropping Thanks to a Republican Policy That Obama Opposed -- In January, in his annual State of the Union address, President Obama bragged that 'our economy is growing and creating jobs at the fastest pace since 1999.' It's great news... But according to a new paper from the National Bureau of Economic Research, the recent improvement in the labor market may be due to a policy change that Obama adamantly opposed: ending extended unemployment benefits."

Yo, I have tissues for you Puppets if you need some? :badgrin:

More proof that cons have no clue as to how the economy actually works.
