Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Why would liberals want Pence in charge ?

It's the crazy clause . Like in Star Trek.

Judging by their response, the media left is pretty thin skinned and up in arms about being taken to the woodshed. MSNBC is used to simply broadcasting whatever drama they want to create converning republican issues they don't agree with, they didn't expect a republican to publicly stand up to them.

Think about it. Trump is more of a 3rd party . The GOP has a lot of issues wh him.

Pence would be a far right rubber stamp .

More pathetic snowflake fantasies. Ain't gonna happen.

Bush invoked the 25th amendment when he went under anesthesia for a colonoscopy and handed the reins to Dick Cheney.

Right now there are 25,000 signatures from mental health professionals worried that Trump is not mentally capable to control the nuclear codes.
For the safety of the public they have a responsibility to speak up when they see the country in danger.

They feel it's already time for the Vice President to do his duty and invoke the 25th amendment.

This amendment was put into place in 1967 when the worry of a mentally incompetent president being able to shoot off nuclear bombs all over the globe.

It's chilling that so many people are realizing that this president is so paranoid and psychologically unfit to carry on the duties of the presidency.

Your liberal friends have confused Trump's idiocy with mental illness.

Either one could put Ayatollah Pence in the White House.

25,000 out of the estimated 631,000 mental health professionals in the US isn't that much kido - and the other 606,000 will say you can't assess a persons mental health based on media clips, much less to do so on clips during political theater. It's like saying you can assess the mental illness of an actor in a movie, completely rediculious and frankly those 25,000 should be worried about retaining their medical licenses by supporting this kind of bologna because it very clearly shows that they are unprofessional.

If enough Republicans start fearing for their jobs because of Trump - you'll be amazed at how quickly they will get rid of Trump - one way or the other.

You've got your nose so far up the partisan ass crack you can only see cheek. Most civilian "republicans" are behind President Trump. A majority of the independents like myself are behind President Trump.

Your lefty wet dreams are not reality no matter how real they feel to you.

Invoking section 4 of the 25th is nearly impossible because those who oppose Trump leave or he gets rid of them insuring his cabinet only contains his most loyal defenders.
