No, The Battle of the Little Big Horn took place June 21, 1876. They used the first Springfield 1873 trapdoor carbines, his is the 1888 version.

Of course John Wayne's Cavalry used them in the Horse Soldiers............ :rofl:

Though the unit never saw action in the Spanish-American War it's interesting to see their training as a example of getting former Civil War antagonists training together.....There were still a lot of animosity between the North and South even at that late date....Indeed some of the general officers were CW participants.
