100,000 people shot in the US per year! Good guy saving lives?

It's more than that to separate circuits through the house to code to prevent freezers from tripping off & lose all your food, heaters to keep pipes from freezing, sump pump to prevent flooding or well pump to prevent water system from filling with toxics.

Wow, you're really confused. Either that or you've really bought some trash.

St. Louis courts announce streamlined approach to more types of gun crimes

The St. Louis Circuit Court has formed a broader system of managing certain gun crimes, streamlining cases through three dedicated judges. Now, C and D felony gun crimes, which encompass more gun crimes than had been addressed in the previous gun docket, will be handled by Judges Steven Ohmer, Michael Stelzer and Timothy Wilson.

The judges had established a docket two years ago that handled a smaller number of gun cases. This docket will include crimes such as endangering the welfare of a child, dealing drugs with a gun and illegally possessing a gun.

So? Weren't those crimes already illegal?
You realize you are off topic on your own thread?

Oh no I did not go off topic. We the people need to see a published list of any potential problem person. Terrorist, no fly, suicidal, angry, criminal, etc. Due process convicted or not, suicidal people have high risk of taking many others out with them. We also must do a much better job charging, convicting & sentencing gun crimes.

That's total bullshit. We the people have no such need. We the people have a constitutional right to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law. Libel is itself a crime. This should make you happy because I would expect to see your name on any such list.
You idiots don't understand the constitution! Guns are only for People who are "Well Regulated" - (properly functioning mind)

Better check your numbers, unless you rely on Facebook for your news.
The first is data for deaths by guns, which is included in an annual report about deaths of all types during calendar year 2009. The numbers for gun deaths is broken down into several categories:

Suicide: 18,735 deaths
Homicide: 11,493 deaths
Unintentional: 554 deaths
Legal interventions: 333 deaths
Undetermined: 232 deaths

Total: 31,347 deaths

The second data set tracks non-fatal injuries by guns. According to the CDC, there were 73,505 non-fatal firearm injuries in 2010. (We will ignore an additional 13,851 non-fatal injuries from BB or pellet guns.)

How accurate is the Facebook post?

If you add together the gun deaths and the non-fatal gun injuries, you get 104,852 people shot in a year. That’s very close to the 1000,000 the Facebook post said.

From page 11 of your link:'

Firearm—In 2009, 31,347 persons died from firearm injuries in the United States (Tables 18 and 19), accounting for 17.7% of all injury deaths that year. The two major component causes of all firearm injury deaths in 2009 were suicide (59.8%) and homicide (36.7%). Firearm injuries (all intents) decreased 1.9% from 2008 to 2009. The age adjusted death rate for firearm suicide did not change from 2008, whereas the death rate for firearm homicide decreased 5.0% in 2009 from 2008.

I think you are mistaken.

CDC: - “In 2010, incidents in the U.S. involving firearms injured or killed more than 105,000 Americans, of which there were twice as many nonfatal firearm-related injuries (73,505) than deaths.”

We are doing better at saving the lives of shooting victims. We also need to reduce the shootings.

Not this shit again. You must be a danielpalos clone.

Care to explain how the right of the people is limited by whether or not a militia is well regulated and necessary?

Well the courts disagree with you. There are no militias anymore. They were replaced by the National Guard.

See something, say something has zero chance if we don't know who to watch. Should people just call 911 every time they see a weapon? That would be stupid & infringe on every normal gun owner. Let the people focus only on troubled people.

i'm pretty sure 1000,000 isn't a valid number regardless of how many times facebook posted it for you.

So you see somebody that is on the suicide section of your list. There is no law that somebody with suicidal tendencies are not allowed to own a firearm. Having such tendencies are not against the law. Unless a person is convicted of terrorism, that person too is allowed to own a firearm. Where is the law that states somebody on the no-fly list can't own a gun? Were they convicted of anything yet????

The problem with your idea is that people would use laws for political purposes or even revenge. A woman claims her boyfriend beat her up five months ago. She claims she never filed a complaint and of course, now there is no evidence of a physical attack. So we put this boyfriend on the suspect list. Then we find out that the only thing he did was cheat on her and she's using the list to get even.

and there is the rub. w/o any proof any woman can now cry VICTIM and garner a shitload of support and pity while crucifying the guy w/o even getting their side.

i'm all for the guilty getting bitchslapped but without being there and knowing the entire situation, these one offs "he gropped me in college!" rants are kinda bullshit. unless you're still in college and can validate the entire situation / context.

to a point, pandoras box has been opened up and now we get to figure out who is really hurt and who is just looking for sympathy. now when you ask that, you'll be a HATER NAZI by people who just want to lay blame and run.

that shit needs to go away too.

It all becomes political, that's the problem.

For instance, those so-called neo Nazi's that protested the removal of statues. What would stop a Democrat administration from putting those people on that list? Or maybe somebody that purchased several weapons at once? I get into arguments with my neighbor all the time. Call the government and have his name put on that list. It would be idiocy.

nothing. they're protesting things that don't matter and trying to MAKE them matter to give them something to protest.

quite annoying.
