Trump has always been deferential to Putin, and is now advocating on his behalf. To make any demands of this man would be introducing an entirely new dynamic into this relationship.

Trump would likely need a proxy to do this, and no one in the State Dept. is qualified, least of all Rubio.

State Dept. is hamstrung, knowing any U.S. diplomat who makes demands of Putin knows that any misstep that would upset this man could initiate a "red phone" call to the White House from Putin, where expressing even the slightest displeasure, could cause a meltdown in the White House.

So Trump is the sole negotiator, the man who can start, and end, wars at his behest, and on his schedule, and under his terms, which he is sure to get back to you with later.

Territories in Ukraine are warm, nice and pleasant. They are no any jungles or significant desets. There are some hostile population, but not much. Open borders, de-fund them, and most of Ukrainian militants will leave the country. Russian people will keep control of the land.
