Key is the proper amount of protein. Protein from fish is good proteins. Don't be a hog though.Excess protein consumption causes liver and kidney damage.
Americans worship protein these days while still consuming too much junk food
America got a new diet plan today, 1/7/2026. Urges more proteins, whole milk, eggs and much more. The idea is the better we eat, the less doctors we need. I for instance have type 2 diabetes. Since I discovered this, being on Medicare, I have seen just one dietician when I was in Idaho. So far here in Oregon, no mention to me by doctors has come up. Today my breakfast was perfect. Sausage, scrambled eggs that I put half and half in, milk, whole, and fried asparagus. Last evening I had 3 pieces of cod cooked for me a local restaurant, French fries too, and cold slaw. It is a chore, but I plan work harder on the recommended diet. Who is planning to check out the new diet plans?
Data for you is here.
Chocolate "cheesecake" for protein worshippers
Yeah it's vegan. Super protein though
You’re not getting 100 grams of protein in half a cup of meat. There’s barely 100 grams of protein in a pound of steak. They say that person needs about 100 grams of protein per day.
That is about a half a cup of meat.

Yes, a gym plan is available at no cost to me. Very good news if it is like the Mediterranean diet. Tonight, I ordered wild Cod (3 pieces) with French Fries (large size) Coleslaw. Delivered to me.That new diet plan is similar to the Mediterranean Diet, which includes whole real foods of healthy lean proteins and animal fats, fruits & veg and whole grains..........no processed, added sugars or salts or ingredients that nobody can pronounce.
Don't forget to include some exercise as well. I think the minimal recommended is 30 minutes, 3 times a week. If you have a Medicare supplement insurance plan, they may offer a gym membership and might be worth looking into.
It effects school lunches and military grub. That's closer to 20 million than seven.I am sure this matters to at least seven people.

I do limited cooking. I have eaten french fries this past month maybe 5 times.just be careful of too much fried foods. Do you do any cooking yourself? That would be even more healthy, than always ordering out
It isn't easy for person with healthy kidneys and liver to get too much protein. When you consume more protein than you need the body will break it down into amino acids which will be used to repair and rebuild tissue and hormones and such. The leftover amino acids will be deaminated. Then the nitrogen is excreted in the urine and the rest is used to create glucose for energy or be stored as fat.Oh gosh. IMO this whole "gotta get more protein!" obsession is a manufactured lie.
The reality (that has been shown in tons of studies) is that most Americans get ample protein, and in many cases, TOO much. But you know what Americans are genuinely deficient in? Fiber.
The link you posted is a government link. Why does that not surprise me, lol.
Personally, I think the high meat diet trend (like Keto, "carnivore", etc) happening in the last few years was started by the meat and dairy industries, who of course want more profit. And especially with competing diets out there (like WFPB), the meat and dairy industries have been fighting to stay on top, and they often put out industry-funded "studies" to convince people their products are healthy...and sadly a lot of people fall for it.

As long as you consume enough water it's no problem.
Thanks. Yeah, I agree that it's not a problem for most people. However, there ARE some people who really over-do protein because they're practically obsessed with it.
And in this video, this doctor brings up something else...starting at around 3 1/2 minutes in, he brings up IGF-1, which is linked to an increased risk of cancer....and he says that if someone already has cancer, too much protein is like throwing gasoline on a fire. His words. If you want to watch the video here it is:

You'd be surprisedTaste free as well!

We shall see what Pete Hegseth decides. He has upped fitness standards. I think he will also up food standards if he hasn't already done so.No, it doesn't.
Schools lunches are now controlled by for profit corporations that love that processed meal crap.
The military does its own thing completely devoid of what JFK's earworm says.
Did you even watch the video? You need IGF-1 and it doesn't cause cancer.
That video is just more fearmongering propaganda from another vegan kook. His logic is not sound.
IGF-1 supports neuron survival, synapse formation, learning and memory and low IGF-1 is associated with cognitive decline. Someone give Dr. Klaper a big freaking steak.
Seriously, saying that IGF-1 supports cancer growth is just like saying blood vessels support cancer growth. Or glucose supports cancer growth. Cancer is parasitic on normal biology Captain Obvious.
It's not a rational reason to limit your meat intake.
