Your Great Flip-Flopping unsure-of-what-he-is-doing President. Perfect formula........................for disaster

Trump backpedals on Mexico, Canada tariffs amid consumer anxiety, stock market tumble

13 minutes ago:

WASHINGTON ― In another tariff reversal, President Donald Trump took executive action Thursday postponing for one month new tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico that fall under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

It's the latest backpedaling in a trade war that Trump ignited earlier this week when he declared from the White House that there was "no room left" for negotiations and imposed steep 25% tariffs on all goods imported from the two neighboring countries. On Wednesday, Trump agreed to exempt automobiles from the tariffs at the request of the three largest U.S. automakers.

and another flip flop from an hour ago:

Musk Can’t Fire Employees, Trump Reportedly Tells Cabinet Secretaries.

President Donald Trump told his Cabinet secretaries they should make final decisions on staffing and cost-cutting measures rather than billionaire Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency

and: Nearly 6,000 USDA workers fired by Trump ordered back to work for now

Not only does it seem that Trump is in disarray (flip-flopping over and over again) but what is worse is "how can Trump supporters defend his actions (as they do fervently) and then Trump makes them look like fools soon thereafter?" Can they keep supporting him when he says one thing right now and tomorrow, he walks it back?

Concerning the tariffs, the statements about Canada becoming the 51st state sure made it easier for Canadian leaders to rally their citizens behind national pride. Strengthening the opponent's hand isn't a great way to start negotiations.

You just don't understand the process of negotiation.
We will be better off in the end with reciprocal tariffs, rather than just letting the world continue to take advantage of us while insisting we protect them all.
You didn't address the OP. It was all about flipflopping Trump on everything

Stock market down again. Trump is bysy with his latest bitcoin scam.

Those who voted for The Grifter Trump are bigger goofballs than him.

You lack understanding:

Negotiation:

A negotiation is a strategic discussion that involves two or more parties to resolve an issue in a way that each party finds acceptable.
You mean the flip flop with Musk giving orders and now Trump telling the head of each department that they are responsible for the firings and that Musk cannot do it, is a negotiating tactic>

And that Canada getting angry at the betrayal for their ally (us) and imposing tariffs on us is also a tactic. and firing 6000 workers and then hiring them back is a tactic?

Are you truly this much in love with Trump that you abandon common sense?

What you call flip-floping is actually called vying for position.
Defining the duties of Musk and his Cabinet heads is standard and necessary.
Firing people is what we call draining the swamp, and it is what we elected Trump for.
No one but Canada gives a shit if Canada is angry.
Reciprocal means just that. Don't want us to tax your shit? Then don't tax ours.
^
All common sense. You don't recognize it because you aren't used to it. It has become a rare commodity...

Vying for position ~ competing or striving to achieve a particular position or goal, often in the context of a competition or rivalry.

Sure, she is.

On the one hand, we have fired and dismissed so many government workers that those lucky enough to retain their positions are now tasked with doing it without anyone to assist them in their duties, effectively handicapping the ability of our government to perform critical functions.

Then, in some bizarre fixation on 25%, has decided to wage war on our trading partners, which is causing uncertainty everywhere, including on Wall Street.

How does Trump think this will end? There is no end goal to this charade, it is purely performative and punitive, and the short term effect is already that of a crippled government and prices that will increase for all Americans.

And you voted for cheaper eggs?

Oh dear.

huh. What do you think reciprocal means?

Reciprocal:
given, felt, or done in return.
(of an agreement or obligation) bearing on or binding each of two parties equally.

Too much common sense for you to digest?

I counter with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, now that's a formula for disaster. END THREAD! :auiqs.jpg:

President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he would exempt Mexico from tariffs on goods under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) until April 2.
