In 2000 the State of Florida was called before the panhandle was closed. The panhandle is central time while the rest of Florida is eastern time. Many people did not vote or went home. Estimated to be in the thousands at least. The panhandle is mostly Republican. Also, the questionable ballots were in a Southeast Florida Prog County approved by a Prog election commissioner. The ballot design was stupid. I now know that Progs were stealing votes even back then of course and before that. Never questioned because it would be racism. Anyway, Al Gore was from Tennessee.
