Now that Trumps words are coming back to haunt him, his only recourse is to blame other people for his failures.

Nobody decided to shut down the Trump rally other than Trump. And, the police didn't say anything about shutting it down for safety. Trump decided all on his own.

You gotta admit though, it's getting him a lot of free news time. Maybe he'll shut down another rally as a way to garner support, because it seems to have done pretty good for his ratings and television face time.
