I don't think they're a fad. They're superb because they're reliable. They've served police well for over 40 years.
But there are other great choices ... and I have 'em.

The big problem I discovered with Glocks is you usually cannot reload your ammo with used brass.

I was trained on Berretta 9mms in the Army, and I know they aren't the most accurate....but I like something I've fired a lot for home defense because when you're sleepy or it's dark you need to be really familiar with your weapon.

While they are generally grouped together as one type of incident they are several different types including public shootings, bar/club incidents, family annihilations, drive-by, workplace and those which defy description but with the established foundation definition being that they have a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.

I've never had any issues with my Beretta.
I just prefer more stopping power I can get with a 1911 or a 44 magnum.

I have a Springfield Armory 9mm with a silencer but I haven't bothered to fire it yet.

Most of the guns I've collected over the last 5 years are brand new still in the box.

Now that I'm married again my new wife wants me to sell some of my guns so she can invest in Gold before the price goes completely out of reach.

I have so many guns I can't remember which ones I already have.

Bought an 1874 Sharps single shot 45-70 Quigley Down Under reproduction which is worth a crapload of money now.
