Judging by my observations of mammals both domestic and wild . I would agree to a point .Sentient is the power of feeling and I have
observed mammals exhibit feelings of jealousy, anger ,revenge, sadness, but never remorse.

Which animals are NOT "sentient" and rely almost solely on genetics to survive?
