I grew up in the rural south and the confederate flag was a part of my childhood and something I always considered to be southern pride, not racism. There were so many other symbols back then of racism.
But, I'm noticing more and more rebel flags in rural areas of the northeast. Today in NW PA. I've also seen it flying proud in NY, VT, NH, ME, MA and CT. What's up with this? What does the rebel flag represent to Yankees?
