I would make sure that she would be able to be identified just in case she had people looking for her.

Well they must not be looking too hard if she has been dead 30 years or whatever it was. Odds are she was just the last of her branch of the family tree and had nothing left to live for and nobody to bury her so she killed herself in the place where people would know what to do with her remains since it was their forte so to speak to dispose of dead bodies.
