The BCG survey found that 70% of engineers, particularly those in information technology and telecommunications, were willing to go abroad.

More US citizens than ever before are living outside of the country. And not only because of job.

So, why are they doing this? Do they search for the better life?

Depends on where...Canada, the UK, Australia or New Zealand? In a heartbeat.

No, all of our family and friends are very close by and I get home sick very easily. Besides, we live very comfortably here in the Steel City.

I might move to another country like Canada or New Mexico

Intelligent people go where the work is, within reason.

I have friends with sons working in North Dakota a lot, but, some do go overseas, to African oilfields mainly.

They are making six figures with only high school educations, and the ability to follow instructions and show up on time, drug free.

I also know many unemployed who sit around and smoke dope and complain there are no jobs here.

I always followed the jobs, and that is how I ended up where I am.

No regrets.

I go where the work is, if I had to go overseas for a job and there was nothing for me here I would do it, I was looking into work overseas as a contractor until I nailed something down here.

Once we had a world class Merchant Marine.

I got in on the tail end of it, and travelled all over Asia and the Pacific Islands, because the work was on the ships.

But I can't stay in one place long anyway; most of my life I had two places I go spend my time in, and moved back and forth a lot.

Yes, I would. The older I get the more I grow to dislike the U.S. I would love the opportunity to live in certain parts of Europe or Asia.

All countries with few or no blacks! Except none of the above would have you....they require you have a job lined up or enough money to start your own business. We should deport you to Fidel's paradise and see how you like the reality of socialism.
